In the field of industrial automation and process control, precise measurement of material storage capacity is a critical step that directly affects the continuity and efficiency of production. The universal flange radar level gauge is widely used as a high-performance measuring tool due to its excellent flexibility and highly reliable measurement results.
The core capability of the universal flange radar level gauge lies in its ability to measure distance through radar waves (usually microwaves). The radar waves emitted by this level gauge can penetrate the air and reflect back to the sensor when encountering the surface of the material. By calculating the time difference between radar wave transmission and reception, the accurate position of the material level can be determined. This non-contact measurement method is very suitable for measuring different forms of materials such as liquids, slurries, particles, and powders.
The design of universal flanges has brought great convenience to the installation and use of radar level gauges. This design allows the radar level gauge to be freely adjusted within a certain angle range, meaning it can be installed in multiple different positions and angles to adapt to various container shapes and installation limitations. This flexibility greatly reduces measurement errors caused by improper installation and improves measurement reliability.
The antenna system emits and receives very short, low-energy microwave pulses. Radar waves propagate at the speed of light. The running time can be converted into a level signal through electronic components. A special time extension method can ensure stable and accurate measurements in a very short amount of time. Even if there are false echoes in complex working conditions, the micro processing technology and debugging software can be used to accurately analyze the echoes of material positions.

Accurate recognition of echo signals can be achieved with millimeter level precision through intelligent software. The distance D from the material surface is proportional to the time interval of the pulse:
