In the design of spherical screen projects, the on-site conditions need to be strictly considered, such as light intensity, humidity, wind speed, etc. If the selection of the plan is not reasonable, the project may not achieve the expected display effect after installation. The selection of module spacing is also important for the preset playback content. If high-definition and close range viewing is required, it is not suitable to choose modules with too large spacing.

There are three possible solutions for spherical LED display screens:

(1) Spherical main control+control system solution
Use a spherical controller to process the output image and achieve complete display of the spherical screen image.
Pure hardware processing, can break free from the limitations of broadcast control software (computer), and achieve multiple signal source switching.

(2) Spherical main control+control system solution
Use broadcast control software to process the output image and achieve complete display of the spherical screen image.
Limitations of the plan:
Computer synchronous output is required, asynchronous loading or signal source switching cannot be used.

(3) Uniform sampling method for control system
The LED irregular control system adopts a uniform sampling method to ensure the continuity of the display screen.
Limitations of the plan:
Due to the characteristic arrangement of spherical screen lights, a significant amount of content is lost at the two poles of the screen in the output image


Basic principle of LED spherical screen:

It consists of a core control module, a rotating display module, a wireless module, a font module, a motor drive module, and a power supply. The fan blade is designed as a circle, with a circle of LED beads on it. The LED emits light in a single or multiple colors. When the fan blade rotates around the central axis, it creates a spherical surface, and all the LEDs on the surface are LED. With the help of font software, when the fan blade reaches the corresponding position, it lights up the corresponding point, which can control the display content of a spherical surface.


Market trend of LED spherical screens:

1. Due to aesthetic fatigue and the demand for innovative personalized displays, the rotating LED spherical screen happens to be a unique and popular product. All defects caused by playing flat video sources on a three-dimensional sphere will be tolerated, just as distorted photos taken with wide-angle lenses or fisheye cameras are accepted by people.

2. The resolution design of LED spherical screens is the same as that of ordinary LED displays, which is related to the viewing distance of the LED screen. Generally, if viewed from 2.5 meters away, it is recommended to choose the P2.5 or P2 model. If viewed from 6 meters away, it is recommended to choose P6 or P5. Of course, with sufficient budget, higher definition P4 or even P3 can also be chosen. If used for outdoor viewing from 10 meters away, P10 model can be selected. Of course, this is a relatively vague choice, qualitative rather than quantitative, and it depends on factors such as the specific on-site installation environment, audience, and budget.

Types of LED spherical screens

1. Watermelon peel LED spherical display screen:

Composed of watermelon peel shaped PCBs, the advantage is that the structure is intuitive and there are fewer types of PCBs available. The disadvantage is that the north-south poles (i.e. north of latitude 45 ° and south of latitude 45 °) cannot play images normally, resulting in low screen utilization or severe image distortion. The reason is that currently, the pixel arrangement of all image sources is in rows and columns, while the pixel arrangement of the north and south poles of the watermelon peel LED spherical screen is not in rows and columns, but in circles, making it difficult to display.

2. Triangular LED spherical display screen:

The spherical screen composed of a flat triangular PCB, commonly known as a football screen, overcomes the disadvantage of the watermelon skin spherical screen's inability to play images at the north and south poles, thus greatly improving the utilization rate of the screen. The disadvantage is that there are many types of PCBs, and the pixel spacing cannot be too small due to the honeycomb arrangement of pixels, making software development more complicated.

3. Six sided LED spherical display screen:

The LED spherical screen composed of a quadrilateral PCB is known as a six sided LED spherical screen. The advantage is that it is closer to a flat LED display screen, with a minimum point spacing similar to that of a flat LED display screen, with little or almost no restrictions, so the effect is much better than a spherical screen composed of triangular PCBs.
