This high-precision instrument is used to determine the size and grinding fineness of particles in printing ink according to the scale of the National Printing Ink Research Institute (NPIRI).
Due to the fine ink particles, the two grooves of the fineness plate have a gentle gradient that allows for a scale of 2.5 μ m for better resolution.
The groove width is 25mm (0.98 ") and the groove length is 165mm (6.5"). The NPIRI scale corresponds to the micrometer scale on the edge. The NPIRI fineness plate and its scraper are made of hardened stainless steel.
