Precautions

1. The influence of the installation angle of the flowmeter on measurement: In theory, the smaller the installation angle, the less interference rainfall will cause, but the starting speed of the measurement will increase (due to weaker reflected signals). The measurement area illuminated by different installation angles is also different. When installed vertically, the horizontal component is zero, making it impossible to measure the horizontal flow velocity.

2. Installation height: In the same situation, the higher the installation height, the weaker the echo and the worse the signal. On the contrary, if installed too low, the interference of the water surface on the radar will be greater. In some rivers where water rises, equipment may even be submerged. The installation height also affects the radar's irradiation area. The higher the installation, the larger the radar wave irradiation area. The measuring range of the flowmeter is 0.1-40m/s. For low speeds, due to small ripples and weak signal echoes, the prerequisite for measuring at low speeds is that the installation height cannot be too high.
3. The influence of antenna direction on current measurement: The angle of the flowmeter radar antenna is 12 × 25 °. When the beam hits a wall directly, the coverage area on the wall is elliptical. When the flowmeter interface is facing up and down or left and right, the illumination area on the wall is different. When the flowmeter illuminates the water surface, the illuminated area resembles an elliptical region. When installed in different directions, the corresponding areas are different. As shown in the figure, the boundary calculation of the water surface area illuminated by the antenna at vertical angles of 12 degrees and 25 degrees when installed at an angle of 45 degrees. Accurately understanding the irradiation range of radar waves helps to choose the appropriate installation location and avoid some easily disturbed scenes, such as tree branches swaying in the wind on both sides of a river.
4. Installation precautions: When installing a flowmeter, the front panel of the flowmeter should not be obstructed, otherwise it will attenuate the radar signal and affect the measurement. When installing on the side, it is recommended not to exceed a horizontal rotation angle of 45-60 degrees.
5. Outer box design: The design of the radar antenna cover will affect the radar's beam and maximum detection range. Radar signals can "penetrate" any color of plastic and glass, giving radar product design a high degree of freedom. The product is made of plastic steel: the non-metallic outer box (antenna cover) will not interfere with the signal,
6. Interference issue: This radio current meter can detect long distances. Such as vehicles, pedestrians, birds, leaves, etc. When the measured speed suddenly increases, it may be that a distant object has been measured. At this point, this measurement should be abandoned. Restart the measurement.
7. Measurement: When the water surface is too calm, it will cause the echo to be too weak to measure the flow velocity. At this time, it should be as close to the water surface as possible. Low flow rate can also affect the measurement range. Surface ripples and small floating objects are beneficial for measuring flow velocity, making it easier to obtain stable flow velocity. The larger the measurement range.
9. Rainy measurement: Raindrops may be mistaken by radar as a moving target, resulting in false triggering. So the farther away from rainwater, the less interference it causes.
