1. Purpose:
The 2018 melt index analyzer is used to measure the melt flow rate of various polymers in a viscous flow state. It is suitable for engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, polyarylsulfone, fluoroplastics, nylon, etc. with high melting temperatures, as well as for testing plastics such as polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS resin, and polyoxymethylene resin with low melting temperatures. It is widely used in plastic production, plastic products, petrochemical industries, as well as relevant universities, research institutions, and inspection departments.

Principle: Melt flow rate refers to the weight or volume of a thermoplastic passing through a standard die every 10 minutes at a certain temperature and load, expressed as MFR. Its value can represent the viscous flow characteristics of thermoplastic in the molten state.
According to the standard: This instrument is suitable for GB3682-2000 thermoplastic melt flow rate test method.

Equipment structure:
This instrument consists of four main parts: the host, temperature control system, temperature measurement system, and automatic cutting system.
The host is the center of the instrument, also known as the extrusion system, consisting of components such as the furnace body, barrel, piston, die, and weights.
Furnace body: The furnace body is composed of an electric heater, temperature measuring components, etc.
Material cylinder: The material cylinder is placed inside the furnace body and is made of alloy steel. The inner wall has high hardness and corrosion resistance. The inner diameter is Φ 9.55 ± 0.025mm and the length is 160mm.
Piston: The material of the piston is corrosion-resistant stainless steel, with a hardness lower than that of the inner wall of the barrel. The total length of the piston is 193mm, the effective length is 175mm, the diameter of the piston rod is 9mm, and the axis bending is not greater than 0.02/100. The length of the piston head is 6.35 ± 0.10mm, and its diameter is uniformly 0.075 ± 0.015mm smaller than the inner diameter of the material cylinder. The surface smoothness is not less than 0.2um. The radius of the chamfer on the lower edge of the piston head is 0.4mm. Two circular markings with a distance of 30mm are engraved on the upper part of the piston rod to indicate the starting and ending lines of the sample cutting.
Mouth mold: Made of tungsten carbide, the outer diameter of the mouth mold is matched with the inner diameter of the material cylinder with a gap. There are two types of mouth mold inner diameters: 2.095 ± 0.005mm and 1.180 ± 0.010mm. The inner wall smoothness is not less than 0.2um, and the height is 8.00 ± 0.025mm.
Load: The load is the sum of the weights, trays, and pistons, with an accuracy of ± 0.5%.
The load of this instrument consists of a combination of weights, including a piston (325g), a weight tray, a weight cover (5000g), one 875g weight, one 960g weight, one 1200g weight, one 1640g weight, one 2500g weight, one 4100g weight, and one 5000g weight.
Pulling plate: The pulling plate is connected to the handle outside the furnace body. When the pulling plate is pulled out, the mouth mold can be removed from the furnace body. After pushing the pulling plate inward to the bottom, the mouth mold can be blocked. The scraper is not obstructed by the pulling plate when rotating and cutting materials, and the sample strip can flow out through the mouth mold.
Temperature control system: The instrument is equipped with heating and constant temperature control devices, with a temperature control range of room temperature+300 ℃, accuracy within ± 0.2 ℃, and temperature fluctuation of ± 0.5 ℃.
Temperature measurement system: It can measure and display temperature values in real-time, with a resolution of 0.1 ℃ and a display error of ± 0.5 ℃.
Automatic cutting system: Automatically cut materials according to the set time interval and frequency, with a timing unit of seconds.
