The metal rotor flowmeter consists of two components, one of which is a conical tube that gradually expands from bottom to top; The other component of the rotor flowmeter is a rotor that is placed in a conical tube and can move freely along the centerline of the tube. The measurement principle of a rotor flowmeter is that when measuring the flow rate of a fluid, the measured fluid flows in from the lower end of a conical tube, and the flow of the fluid impacts the rotor, generating a force on it (the magnitude of this force varies with the flow rate); When the flow rate is large enough, the force generated lifts the rotor and raises it. At the same time, the measured fluid flows through the annular section between the rotor and the conical tube wall, and exits from the upper end. When the force acting on the rotor during the flow of the measured fluid is exactly equal to the weight of the rotor in the fluid (known as the displayed weight), the force on the rotor is in equilibrium and stays at a certain height. Analysis shows that; The position and height of the rotor in the conical tube correspond to the flow rate it passes through. Therefore, by observing the position and height of the rotor in the conical tube, the corresponding flow rate value can be obtained.
In order to prevent the rotor from touching the pipe wall when moving up and down on the centerline of the conical tube, two methods are usually used: one is to install a guide core rod at the center of the rotor to keep it moving up and down on the centerline of the conical tube; Another method is to have inclined slots at the edge of the rotor disk. When the fluid flows through the rotor from bottom to top, it bypasses the rotor while passing through the slots to generate a reverse thrust, causing the rotor to continuously rotate around the centerline and prevent it from hitting the pipe wall during operation. The rotor material of the rotor flowmeter can be made of stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, etc.

Metal rotor flowmeter is a type of flowmeter used in industry and laboratory, which has the characteristics of simple structure, intuitive, low pressure loss, and easy maintenance. Rotary flow meters are suitable for measuring small flow rates through pipelines with a diameter of D<150mm, and can also measure the flow rate of corrosive media. When in use, the flowmeter must be installed on a vertically oriented pipe section, and the fluid medium passes through the rotor flowmeter from bottom to top.
3、 Precautions for metal rotor flowmeter:

2. Suitable for measuring the flow rate of small caliber, low velocity gases, liquids, and vapors.
3. The principle of magnetic coupling is leak free and high voltage resistant.
4. Due to the influence of certain viscosity, it is not suitable to measure high viscosity media.
When the flow rate exceeds 100m3/h water flow rate, the pressure loss is large.
6. Commonly used for process control instruments, with an accuracy of 1%, typically 1.5%, and a range ratio of 10:1.
7. Both intrinsically safe and explosion-proof types are available, suitable for hazardous environments.
8. The suitable installation method is vertical installation with bottom in and top out.
9. There are various forms to choose from, such as on-site pointer type, battery type, two-wire type, 220V AC power supply type, etc.
When measuring high temperature and low temperature (below -30 ℃) media, a jacket type is used. <BR>11. Not suitable for measuring media with large density changes.
12. It is not suitable to measure the flow rate of pulsating media (such as the outlet of a metering pump).
13. For gases, there is no temperature and pressure compensation in this table, which needs to be considered separately.
When multiple instruments are densely installed or carbon steel process pipelines pass near the instruments, a distance of at least 100mm should be maintained from the instruments to avoid magnetic field interference.
When measuring the flow rate of media containing a large amount of ferromagnetic particles, a magnetic filter should be installed in front of the instrument and regularly purged.
If using instruments in explosion-proof environments, the round shell M4 indicator should be selected.
17. The requirements for the straight pipe section of the metal tube float flowmeter are not high, generally the first 5D and the second 250mm are sufficient.
18. The high and low alarm of the flowmeter is generally in the form of an open collector OC gate, which requires an external relay for current amplification. Alternatively, a relay output type can be selected, with a contact capacity of 1A@30VDC or 0.25A@250VAC The application of metal rotor flow meters is becoming increasingly widespread.
