Industrial bimetallic thermometer is an on-site detection instrument for measuring low and medium temperatures. It can directly measure the temperature of liquid vapor and gas media within the range of -80 ℃ to+500 ℃ in various production processes. The main component of industrial bimetallic thermometers is a multi-layer metal sheet composed of two or more metal sheets stacked together, which works based on the principle that two different metals expand differently when the temperature changes. It is composed of bimetallic sheets wound into a circular curved shape. When one end expands due to heat, it drives the pointer to rotate, and the working instrument displays the temperature value corresponding to the thermoelectric potential.

The metal sheet bimetallic thermometer is made in a spiral coil shape. When the temperature of multi-layer metal sheets changes, the expansion or contraction of each layer of metal is uneven, causing the spiral coil to roll up or loosen. Due to one end of the spiral coil being fixed and the other end being connected to a freely rotating pointer, the volume changes of the two metals are different when the temperature changes, resulting in bending. One end of it is fixed, and the other end undergoes displacement with temperature changes, with the displacement being close to a linear relationship with the temperature. The self recording system consists of a self recording clock and a self recording pen. The self recording pen is connected to an amplifying lever and is operated by a sensing element. Therefore, when the bimetallic plate senses a temperature change, the pointer can indicate the temperature on a circular dividing scale. The temperature measurement range of this instrument is 200~650 ℃, and the allowable error is about 1% of the scale's two strokes. This thermometer has a similar purpose as a rod-shaped glass liquid thermometer, but can be used under conditions that require higher mechanical strength.
