The PCI-8570/PXI-8570 expansion kit is a PCI to PXI or PXI to PXI expansion system that functions similarly to a transparent PCI to PCI bridge register group. By implementing master and slave expansion modules, users can directly control PXI/CompactPCI chassis from any other PC or PXI/Compact PCI system. All devices in the system are considered as local devices on the same PCI bus.

The PCI interface supports 64 bit 66MHz or 32-bit 33MHz PCI buses. By using shielded twisted pair copper cables, PCI-8570/PXI-8570 can extend the transmission distance to 10 meters. A master expansion card can simultaneously expand two slave expansion modules (PXI-8570). Bundled connections can support full bandwidth 64 bit/66MHz PCI buses. All interrupt signals from card insertion in the expansion system can be transmitted to the main system through expansion.

By using PCI/PXI-8570, users can integrate PCI, CompactPCI, and PXI devices into the same system to increase the number of PXI/CompactPCI slots required for high-density I/O applications, thereby separating the control system from extreme environments with an expansion chassis.
