Plate type steam heat exchanger is a type of plate type equipment that uses steam as a heat source to exchange heat with a cold medium. If the steam temperature is low, we can directly choose a detachable heat exchanger as the steam heat exchange equipment. However, the sealing gasket of the detachable heat exchanger has limited resistance to high temperature and high pressure. So, when choosing a plate type steam heat exchanger, we will consider choosing a fully welded heat exchanger.

The fully welded plate type steam heat exchanger has no rubber strip restrictions, which not only expands the application range of detachable heat exchangers, but also has the advantages of high temperature and high pressure resistance and high heat transfer efficiency.

Commonly used for crude oil, natural gas purification treatment, and chemical products; Chemical industry; Pharmaceuticals and specific chemical products; Spray control system; HVAC refrigeration; Regional heating and thermal power plants; Food technology; Recovery of heat from cooling towers; petrifaction; Heating; Electricity; Metallurgy; Bioenergy; Refining; Power plant; Industries such as high temperature and high pressure.

Some companies also add small shell and tube heat exchangers on top of detachable heat exchangers, allowing steam to first pass through the shell and tube heat exchanger, cool down and flow out before entering the plate heat exchanger. The purpose is to cool and reduce the pressure of the steam before entering the plate replacement, in order to avoid damaging the plate replacement components. Although steam heat exchange can also be achieved, this combination takes up a large area and reduces heat transfer efficiency.

Compared to additional shell and tube heat exchangers,Plate type steam heat exchangers have more obvious advantages
1. Compact structure, small footprint, high heat transfer efficiency, high pressure bearing capacity (up to 5Mpa), high temperature resistance (up to 250-300 ℃), and reliable operation.
2. High heat transfer efficiency: The heat exchange of the medium in the heat exchanger is achieved through plate bundles, and the plates that make up the plate bundles are pressed and formed by special molds. The structural form is similar to that of ordinary detachable plate heat exchangers, with advantages such as high heat transfer efficiency, large flow rate, low fluid pressure drop, and less heat loss.
3. Flexible and convenient: A set of molds can be used to press plates of different lengths, forming bundles of plates of different specifications, forming a product series of the same width, with multiple specifications and models, and a wide range of choices, which can better meet the requirements of working conditions.
4. Wide applicability: The plate bundle and clamping plate are all welded structures, which can operate reliably and smoothly under conditions such as steam condensation, liquid medium cooling, heating, evaporation, etc. in environments where the temperature is 300 ℃, pressure is 4.0Mpa, or the working medium corrodes the sealing gasket, as well as in production processes with high reliability requirements for flammable, explosive, toxic media and environments. Therefore, it has both the advantages of a detachable plate type steam heat exchanger and the characteristics of being suitable for high temperature and high pressure heat exchangers.

It should be noted that when certain substances (such as ammonia water, alcohol, etc.) are added to pure water to form a mixed steam condensation, due to the Marangoni effect, a bead like condensation shape can be formed on the condensation surface. Compared with membrane condensation, the heat transfer coefficient can be increased by 2-8 times. Plate steam heat exchangers themselves are highly efficient heat exchange equipment, and the Marangoni effect can improve heat transfer efficiency. As the concentration increases, the heat transfer coefficient actually decreases, and the pressure drop on the water side is much greater than that on the gas side. Moreover, as the number of plates increases, the corresponding pressure drop decreases.
