Resident in Xinjiang

The Sixth Division Qi Farm is located in Qitai County, Changji Prefecture, the southeast edge of the the Junggar Basin. Provincial Highway 303 passes through Tuangchang, 228 kilometers to the west to Urumqi, passes Mulei and Balikun to the east to Hami, and passes Jiangjun Gobi and Beishan Coal Mine to the north to Altay Qinghe County. It is an important traffic artery for northern Xinjiang to enter and exit Xinjiang, with good traffic location advantages. On April 28, 2004, Qitai Farm was formed by the merger of the original Qitai Farm, 108th Regiment, 109th Regiment, and 110th Regiment in the Qitai Reclamation Area of the Sixth Agricultural Division. It was the first pilot unit of the Corps' central regiment and the central regiment with the most merged regiments. It was also a linked unit of the Corps' political commissar. The entire site covers an area of 1.14 million acres (760 square kilometers), including 370000 acres of arable land and an annual sowing area of about 300000 acres. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north, high in the east and low in the west, crossing four terrain zones from north to south: Gobi plain, hills, Qianshan area, and mountainous area. The average altitude is 843 meters, the frost free period is 130 to 150 days, the effective accumulated temperature is 2800 to 3200 ℃, the annual precipitation is 180-250 millimeters, and the annual evaporation is 2200 millimeters. It mainly grows summer crops and belongs to the semi-arid climate of the mainland. The total population of the venue is 33958, including 2135 ethnic minorities, 11672 households, 8532 employees, and 4497 retirees. There were 1072 cadres of various types in the venue, including 626 party members, 462 female cadres, and 47 ethnic minority cadres. By revoking field divisions and merging companies, there are currently 6 communities (left behind offices), 18 field units, and 29 agricultural companies.
