Steam condenser is commonly used for condensing secondary steam in the final effect of multi effect evaporator to ensure the vacuum degree of the final effect evaporator. 1、 Classification of steam condensers
1. Spray type steam condenser:The cold water of the spray type steam condenser is sprayed from the upper nozzle, and the steam enters from the side inlet. After fully contacting with the cold water, the steam is condensed into water and flows down the pipe. Some non condensable vapor may also be carried out.
2. Filling type steam condenser:After steam enters from the side pipe, the cold water sprayed from the top comes into contact with the condenser. The condenser is filled with ceramic ring packing, which increases the contact area between cold water and steam when the packing is wetted by water. The steam condenses into water and flows out along the lower pipeline. Non condensable gases are pumped out along with the upper pipeline by a vacuum pump to ensure a certain degree of vacuum inside the condenser.
3. Tube type steam condenser:The tube condenser is mainly composed of shell, tube plate, heat exchange tube, head, baffle, etc. During heat exchange, a fluid enters from the connecting pipe of the head, flows through the pipe, and exits from the outlet pipe at the other end of the head, which is called the pipe side; Another type of fluid enters through the connecting pipe of the shell and flows out from another connecting pipe on the shell, which is called the shell side.

4. Plate type steam condenser:Plate type steam condenser is a heat exchanger composed of a series of metal sheets with a certain ripple shape stacked together. Thin rectangular channels are formed between various plates for heat exchange through half plates. Compared with conventional shell and tube heat exchangers, its heat transfer coefficient is much higher under the same flow resistance and pump power consumption, and there is a trend to replace shell and tube heat exchangers within the applicable range.

There are many types of steam condensers, and the above are just a few of them. Among them, tube condenser and plate condenser are relatively common condenser models. In the early stage, tube condenser was widely used. Although it occupies a large area, its resistance to high temperature and high pressure is higher. However, the emergence of plate condensers has caused significant impact on it. Stainless steel plate condenser not only has the advantages of high heat transfer efficiency and small footprint, but also has a lower price than tubular condenser. So, the plate condenser quickly occupied the market in the heat exchange field.
