The structure of the tipping bucket rain sensor consists of an international standard caliber Φ 200mm rain receiving port component, an outer cylinder, a base component, and a movement component. The movement component is installed on the base component, which includes: integrated bracket, upper funnel, upper tipping bucket, upper tipping bucket tilt angle positioning adjustment screw, step controlled release funnel, bidirectional tipping plate, measuring tipping bucket, measuring tipping bucket tilt angle positioning adjustment screw, counting tipping bucket, reed switch, signal output terminal, etc.

Working principle of tipping bucket rain gauge: During rainfall, rainwater collected at the water inlet is poured into the measuring tipping bucket through an upper cylinder (funnel) - the tipping bucket is injection molded with engineering plastic and divided into two equal volume triangular compartments with a middle partition. It is a mechanical bistable structure, where when one chamber receives water, the other chamber is in a waiting state. When the received rainwater volume reaches the predetermined value of 0.2mm, due to the action of gravity, it flips over. The blade of the herringbone flap only needs to cross a 2 ω (about 6 degrees) extension angle to complete the precipitation switching task between the water receiving buckets, and the blocking rod drives the flap to reset in the second half of the cycle after the water changing task is completed, once again making the flap blade stably stop at the critical point outside the rainfall water column; When its water intake reaches the predetermined value, it flips over on its own and is in a waiting state. If the precipitation continues, the above process is repeated. Magnetic steel is installed on the side wall of the tipping bucket, which scans from the side of the dry reed switch when the tipping bucket flips, causing the dry reed switch to switch on and off. Every time the tipping bucket flips over, the dry reed switch is turned on and sends out a switch signal (pulse signal).
