working principle:
The XS12JK-3P/Y reluctance speed sensor includes magnetic steel, soft magnetic armature, and coil inside. The magnetic field (magnetic field lines) is emitted from the magnet, passes through the armature and coil, and returns to the other end of the magnet from space. When a ferromagnetic tooth passes through the sensor end, the magnetic resistance of the magnetic circuit will change once, and an AC voltage signal will be induced inside the coil. If it is an involute gear, the induced voltage should be a sine wave.

According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, the amplitude of the AC voltage signal generated by the sensor is proportional to the speed at which the teeth pass through. The more teeth there are in the gear, the faster the speed, and the larger the signal amplitude. Therefore, the signal amplitude is very small at low speeds. But when the speed is high, the weakening magnetic field effect of the coil also increases, which in turn leads to a decrease in signal amplitude. So speed sensors are usually used for frequency20~10KHzMeasurement of rotational speed signal.
