Electromagnetic flow meters have been widely used in industrial production
Date: 2023-04-21Read: 8
Electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that uses Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to determine fluid flow rate by measuring the induced electromotive force inside a conductor. It has the advantages of simple structure, high precision, and good reliability, and has been widely used in industrial production.
The electromagnetic flowmeter mainly consists of two parts: the induction electrode and the magnetic field generator. When a liquid passes through an induction electrode, it will induce an electromotive force inside the conductor, which is related to the magnetic field strength, velocity, and length of the conductor. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, this electromotive force is proportional to the velocity and length of the conductor, and proportional to the magnetic field strength.
In order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the electromagnetic flowmeter, temperature compensation and pressure compensation are required. Temperature changes can affect the resistivity of conductors, thereby altering the magnitude of induced electromotive force, thus requiring compensation for temperature. At the same time, under high pressure and low temperature environments, the density and viscosity of the liquid will also change, which will affect the reading of the electromagnetic flowmeter, so pressure compensation is also needed.
In addition to temperature compensation and pressure compensation, linearization processing is also required. Due to the uneven velocity distribution of liquid flow inside the conductor, the induced electromotive force also exhibits nonlinear effects, which require linearization to obtain accurate flow values.
In addition, electromagnetic flow meters can also be used in combination with capacitive sensors or pressure sensors to achieve multi parameter measurement. For example, when measuring steam flow rate, pressure sensors can be installed to simultaneously measure both steam pressure and flow rate, thereby obtaining more accurate results.
In short, electromagnetic flowmeter is a simple, high-precision, and reliable flow measurement instrument. With the continuous advancement of technology, electromagnetic flow meters are also constantly optimized and upgraded, providing more accurate and reliable flow measurement solutions for industrial production.
