There are many types of cables, such as high-temperature wires, fire-resistant cables, low-temperature resistant cables, etc., which are also used in different industries due to their different functions. Below, the editor will take you to learn about high-temperature resistant cables!
Long term continuous working temperatures of 125 degrees, 135 degrees, 150 degrees, 180 degrees, 200 degrees, 250 degrees, and above are called high-temperature resistant wires and cables. Currently, commonly used wires and cables include irradiated cross-linked polyolefins, silicone rubber, fluororesins, polyimides, mica, magnesium oxide, etc.
Heat resistant wires and cables, as well as high-temperature wires and cables, need to meet the following two requirements: 1. The environmental temperature of the wires and cables is high, and the cables can transmit signals or electrical energy normally under high temperature for a long time; 2. The main purpose of power transmission cables is to increase their interception capacity.
Ordinary cables are prone to insulation aging and burning at high temperatures, resulting in loss of performance and damage that renders them unusable. High temperature cables can operate normally and stably at rated high temperatures, without affecting signal or power transmission performance, and can also ensure that the cable has a long service life.
High temperature resistant cables are mainly divided into two categories. Fluorine plastic material and silicone rubber material. Of course, there are other insulation materials available, but currently these two are the most common ones on the market.
Fluoroplastic wires and cables are a type of material that includes perfluoroethylene propylene (FEP, commonly known as F46), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE, commonly known as F40), and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). Fluoroplastic cables mainly include: high-temperature communication cables, high-temperature resistant lead wires and installation wires, high-temperature compensation wires, industrial high-temperature resistant power and control signal cables, radiation resistant cables for atomic reactors, and wires for locomotives and vehicles.
Silicone rubber insulated wires and cables: Silicone rubber has good heat resistance. The commonly used silicone rubber for wires and cables is methyl vinyl silicone rubber, with a working temperature range of -60 ℃ to 180 ℃. Silicone rubber has good bending and low-temperature functions, which are not easily damaged or cracked. These functions are not present in general high-temperature cables, so silicone rubber cables have a wide range of applications and have become a highlight of high-temperature cables. Silicone rubber cables are used in high-temperature mobile cables, flexible power cables, motor lead wires, and high-temperature operating environments.
