What is the difference between armored and non armored thermocouples
Date: 2025-07-07Read: 11
1. Armored thermocouple: As a temperature measurement sensor, armored thermocouple is often combined with temperature transmitters, regulators, and display instruments to form a process control system. It can be directly used to measure or control the temperature of fluids, vapors, gas media, and solid surfaces within the range of 0-1800 ℃. The advantages of armored thermocouples include flexibility, high voltage resistance, fast thermal response time, and durability. Similar to industrial assembled thermocouples, armored thermocouples are commonly used as temperature sensors in conjunction with display instruments, recording instruments, and electronic regulators.
2. Non armored thermocouple: usually composed of multiple parts such as a hot electrode, insulation tube, protective sleeve, and junction box.
1. Armored thermocouple: Armored thermocouples have become an ideal choice for temperature measurement due to their excellent flexibility, high voltage resistance, fast thermal response time, and durability. It is often used in conjunction with display instruments, recording instruments, and electronic regulators, and its temperature sensing element design can also be used for prefabricated thermocouples. This thermocouple can directly measure the temperature of liquid, vapor, gas media, and solid surfaces in various production processes ranging from 0 ℃ to 800 ℃. Compared to prefabricated thermocouples, armored thermocouples exhibit better performance in terms of flexibility, high voltage resistance, thermal response time, and durability.
2. Non armored thermocouple: When wiring, ensure that the compensating wire is away from the power line and interference source. If crossing cannot be avoided, cross routing should be used as much as possible. In addition, to improve the anti-interference performance of thermocouple connection wires, shielded compensation wires can be selected.
