What are the key technical parameters of a colorimeter
Date: 2024-12-18Read: 17
ColorimeterThe key technical parameters of the instrument cover multiple aspects, which together determine its performance and scope of application, as follows:
Wavelength range: typically between 400nm and 700nm, some high-end instruments may cover a wider spectral range (such as 380nm-780nm) to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
Resolution: Generally ranging from ± 0.5nm to ± 2nm, the higher the resolution, the higher the sensitivity of the instrument to color changes, and the more accurate the measurement results.
Absorption range: usually 0 to 3.5 Abs, some high-end instruments can reach higher ranges to meet the measurement needs of samples with different concentrations.
Light source type: mostly stable light sources such as xenon lamps or rattan lamps to ensure spectral stability and accuracy. Some instruments are equipped with multiple standard light sources (such as D65, A, CWF, etc.) to meet the needs of different industries and standards.
Measurement error and repeatability: Measurement error and repeatability determine the accuracy and stability of the instrument. The measurement error of high-precision instruments is usually ≤± 3%, and the repeatability error is ≤± 2%, ensuring the reliability and consistency of the measurement results.
Response time: refers to the time required for the instrument to start measuring and obtain results. The shorter the response time, the higher the measurement efficiency of the instrument, making it suitable for scenarios that require rapid detection.
Gain adjustment function: Optimize measurement sensitivity, enabling the instrument to obtain accurate measurement results at different concentrations of samples.
Chromaticity system and color difference formula: International standards such as CIE 1931, CIE 1964 supplementary chromaticity system, or CIE 1976 (Lab *) color space color difference formula are adopted to ensure the accuracy and comparability of measurement results.
Illumination observation geometry conditions, such as d/o (diffuse illumination/vertical observation), eliminate the influence of specular reflection of the sample and improve measurement accuracy.
Indication accuracy and stability: Indication accuracy refers to the deviation between the displayed value and the true value of the instrument, while stability refers to the ability of the instrument to maintain measurement performance unchanged during long-term use. The indication accuracy of high-precision instruments can reach 0.0001 chromaticity coordinates, with a stability error of ≤ 0.1.
Data interface and storage capacity: Supports USB, RS232, WIFI, Bluetooth and other data interfaces for convenient data transmission and sharing. Storage capacity ≥ 100000 sets of data, meeting the storage needs of long-term and large-scale data.
Work environment requirements: including working temperature, relative humidity, and other conditions. Generally, the working temperature is required to be between 5-35 ℃, and the relative humidity should not exceed 85% (without condensation) to ensure the normal operation and measurement accuracy of the instrument.
