Geotextile wear testerInstructions for use

Tested samples that have been debugged in the standard atmosphere specified in GB6529.

Place the debugged sample on a stationary upper plate and clamp the sample with fixtures at both ends of the plate. Place the abrasive on a reciprocating lower plate and clamp it at both ends of the plate with a fixture.

Place the upper plate on top of the lower plate to align the sample with the abrasive.

Apply a total load of (6 ± 0.01) kg, including the weight of the upper plate, to the upper plate.

★ Turn on the power switch, set the required wear cycle, and start the wear test of this tester. The machine operates at a frequency of 90 cycles per minute and grinds 750 cycles at the specified frequency, or until the sample is worn through. If the sample is worn through before the specified period, the number of cycles during which the sample was worn through and the number of cycles during which the sample was worn through should be reported. If there is any abnormal situation midway, the stop button can be pressed to stop the machine. The counter reset button should be pressed for the next test.

If the sample or abrasive slips inside the clamp, discard the sample and adjust it before testing another sample. After each test, replace the abrasive and conduct tensile tests on the reference sample and the worn sample according to the provisions of CB/T3923.1.

Calculation and expression of geotextile wear tester results: Calculate the percentage of strength loss for each test group, * * to 1%: Strength loss rate (%)=[(FA-FB) ÷ FA] × 100, where: FA - reference sample fracture strength, N; FB - fracture strength of the worn sample, N.
