1. From the perspective of product technology. Select materials based on the tested fluid medium, its chemical properties, and other factors.

2. Behind the instrument performance valve. Instantaneous flow and total amount, accuracy level, repeatability, linearity, flow range and range, pressure loss, output signal characteristics, response time.

3. Fluid characteristics. Fluid temperature and pressure, fluid density, viscosity, chemical corrosion and scaling, compressibility, multiphase flow.

4. Selection of instrument accuracy. The accuracy of the instrument is determined based on the maximum measurement error allowed in the production process. It cannot be assumed that the higher the accuracy of the selected instrument, the better. Instruments with lower accuracy, lower cost and durability should be selected as much as possible while meeting the process requirements.

5. Installation requirements. Pipeline layout direction, upstream and downstream straight pipe sections, pipe diameter, maintenance space, pipeline vibration, valve position, protective accessories, pulsating flow and unsteady flow, and anti attack damage.

6. Environmental conditions. Environmental temperature, humidity, explosion-proof and other safety measures, electromagnetic field interference.

7. Economic viability. Installation costs, operating costs, calibration costs, maintenance costs, spare parts, other cost-effectiveness and technical service factors.
