As an important measuring equipment in industrial automation control systems, the installation quality of the Cologne plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter directly affects the measurement accuracy and equipment service life. The correct installation method and standardized operation are the foundation for ensuring the long-term stable operation of equipment.

1、 Installation location selection
Choosing the appropriate installation location is the primary condition for ensuring measurement accuracy. The Cologne plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter should be installed in an area with stable fluid flow, no eddies or turbulence, away from components such as bends and valves that may cause fluid disturbances. The ideal installation position should ensure that the length of the upstream straight pipe section is ≥ 10 times the pipe diameter, and the length of the downstream straight pipe section is ≥ 5 times the pipe diameter, ensuring that the fluid flow direction is consistent with the direction indicated by the flowmeter. At the same time, the installation location should be convenient for future maintenance and repair, away from strong electromagnetic field equipment and vibration sources.
2、 Key points for sensor installation
Attention should be paid to the depth and direction when inserting sensors into pipelines. The sensor should be inserted between 1/4 and 1/8 of the diameter of the pipeline, with a depth of 3mm beyond the base, ensuring that the electrode is located at the D/8 position of the pipeline (close to the average fluid velocity). When inserting the sensor into the pipeline, it should be perpendicular to the pipeline section, with an angle of less than 5 degrees, and the direction mark must be consistent with the fluid flow direction. When installing the base welding, stainless steel welding rods should be used for flat welding to ensure that the welding is firm and smooth, and the flange surface is parallel to the pipe axis.
3、 Ball valve and sealing treatment
For situations that require continuous loading and unloading or do not allow medium overflow, ball valves need to be installed. Install the DN50 ball valve onto the mounting base, ensuring that the long chamber of the ball valve is facing upwards, and check if the ball valve switch is functioning properly. Install the compression screw seat kit on the ball valve, loosen the positioning screw and compression nut, and insert the sensor into the measured pipeline through the ball valve with the rod inserted. Sealing treatment requires the use of sealant or gasket to ensure no leakage, and the sealing area should be smooth and free of impurities.
4、 Electrical connection and grounding
Electromagnetic flow meters require power supply, and wiring should be strictly carried out according to the wiring diagram to ensure correct connection. The power supply voltage and frequency should meet the equipment requirements, and the signal lines should be shielded and kept away from strong electromagnetic interference sources. Grounding is crucial, and the grounding point of the sensor output signal should be electrically connected to the measured medium, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 Ω. When using metal pipes, there is generally no need to install a dedicated grounding device; Non metallic pipelines must be equipped with separate grounding wires.
5、 Debugging and Calibration
After installation, debugging and inspection must be carried out. Before powering on, check if the instrument display is normal to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition. When it is confirmed that the tested tube is filled with fluid and the flow rate is zero, the instrument display should be zero. After the fluid flow inside the test tube stabilizes, rotate the sensor direction to maximize the displayed value, and then tighten the positioning screw and compression nut. If necessary, standard flow meters can be used for calibration to ensure measurement accuracy. Regular maintenance and inspection are important steps to ensure the long-term stable operation of flow meters.
6、 Precautions
The installation environment should avoid strong vibrations, high temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The ambient temperature should be between -10~45 ℃, and the relative humidity should be ≤ 85%. For corrosive media, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline material matches the properties of the measured fluid. If the fluid contains solid particles, a filter should be installed in front of the flowmeter to prevent particles from causing wear on the electrode. After installation, it is necessary to regularly check the cleanliness of the electrodes and the integrity of the lining to maintain long-term stable operation of the equipment.
Following the above installation specifications, the Cologne plug-in electromagnetic flowmeter can provide accurate and reliable flow measurement data for industrial production, ensuring the smooth progress of the production process.
