The manifestation of easy installation of ultrasonic level gauge
Date: 2025-06-23Read: 7
1、 Advantages of Installing Ultrasonic Level Gauge:
1. Non contact measurement:
No direct contact with the medium is required to avoid corrosion, blockage, or contamination, especially suitable for corrosive, high viscosity, or impurity containing liquids.
2. Flexible installation:
Can be fixed on the top of the container, bracket, or wall without the need for complex mechanical connections.
3. Quick debugging:
Parameters can be set through software or buttons, without the need for complex calibration (compared to radar level gauges).
2、 Preparation before installation of ultrasonic level gauge:
1. Confirm measurement conditions:
Medium: Is the liquid turbid, vapor or foam? Do we need to choose anti-corrosion or explosion-proof models?
Temperature/Pressure: For extreme environments, sensors that are resistant to high temperatures and pressures should be selected.
Blind spot: Ensure that the liquid level remains within the sensor range even when it is low (avoid the bottom blind spot).
2. Choose installation location:
Top installation: The sensor is facing downwards, perpendicular to the liquid level, to avoid tilting.
Avoid process interference: Keep away from feeding ports, mixers, pumps, and other equipment to prevent turbulence or bubbles from affecting the measurement.
Wide field of view: Ensure that there are no obstacles (such as brackets or pipelines) between the sensor and the liquid level.
3、 Installation steps of ultrasonic level gauge:
1. Mechanical installation
Fixed sensor:
Secure the sensor to the top of the container using a bracket or flange, ensuring horizontal or vertical alignment with the liquid level.
The threaded interface needs to be sealed (such as using waterproof tape or sealant) to prevent moisture or corrosion.
Reserved maintenance space:
Leave a clearance of ≥ 0.5 meters around for future maintenance and debugging.
2. Electrical connection
Wiring specifications:
Separate the wiring of power and signal lines to avoid interference.
Shielding layer single ended grounding to prevent electromagnetic interference (especially in lightning strike areas or near motors).
Explosion proof requirements:
In flammable and explosive environments, explosion-proof sensors must be used and comply with explosion-proof electrical standards.
3. Parameter settings
Basic settings:
Range (set according to container height): Ensure that the liquid level changes within the range and avoid exceeding it.
Blind spot setting: Adjust the distance of the bottom blind spot according to the sensor model.
Compensation function:
Temperature compensation: If the temperature fluctuation of the medium is large, enable the temperature compensation function.
Filter setting: Enable filtering on liquid levels with significant fluctuations to smooth the measured values.
4. On site debugging
Empty tank calibration:
Aim the sensor at the empty liquid level and set the lower limit value to 0% (or 4mA output).
Full tank calibration:
Inject the medium to the highest liquid level and set the upper limit value to 100% (or 20mA output).
Verify linearity:
Check whether the output signal is proportional to the actual liquid level at the intermediate liquid level point.
