Application of gas detectors in modern agriculture
Date: 2023-03-24Read: 2

Smart agriculture is an important part of the smart economy, which is a product of the integration of modern information technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing with agricultural production. It can achieve precise management and visual diagnosis of agricultural production through intelligent perception and data analysis of the agricultural production environment.

Gas detectors play an important role in smart agriculture. Taking carbon dioxide gas detectors as an example, they can monitor the concentration of carbon dioxide gas in greenhouses in real time, provide timely warnings, and provide accurate data for people to adjust their work plans or take remedial measures in a timely manner.

Smart Agriculture System Solution

CO2 is one of the main raw materials for photosynthesis in green plants. In a closed greenhouse, the content of carbon dioxide directly affects the growth of crops. Excessive or insufficient carbon dioxide can have a certain impact on crops. At present, I have over 50 million acres of greenhouses with an annual output value of about 500 billion yuan, and the demand is constantly increasing every year, including the supply of fruits and vegetables for the whole population, the development of the ornamental plant market, etc. Therefore, it is urgent to regulate the concentration of carbon dioxide in the development and improvement of modern agriculture.

Based on the development of IoT technology, installing carbon dioxide sensors in greenhouses can ensure timely alarm in case of insufficient or excessive carbon dioxide concentration. Timely use CO2 gas fertilizer when the concentration is insufficient to ensure high-quality and high-yield crops; Ventilation should be carried out promptly when the concentration is too high. Farmers can adjust the high and low alarm values of the carbon dioxide detector according to the required carbon dioxide concentration in the greenhouse. When the carbon dioxide content in the greenhouse exceeds the upper limit or falls below the lower limit, the alarm will emit an audible and visual alarm signal. In addition, farmers can also see the changes in carbon dioxide concentration inside the greenhouse through the instrument's display screen, in order to avoid situations where the carbon dioxide concentration inside the greenhouse is too low and affects photosynthesis.

Chicheng Electric's carbon dioxide sensor module has the characteristics of high sensitivity, high resolution, low power consumption, fast response, and long service life. Widely used in atmospheric environment, indoor air detection, industrial safety testing, agriculture and animal husbandry, and other occasions.

In addition to carbon dioxide sensors, commonly used agricultural sensors currently include temperature sensors, humidity sensors, pH sensors, gas sensors, biosensors, photoelectric sensors, and pressure sensors. And Chicheng Electric's low-power, corrosion-resistant, and low-temperature resistant sensors have also been widely used in outdoor field environments.

For smart agriculture, sensors are the foundation for achieving intelligent agricultural development and an indispensable "probe" tool. With the gradual maturity of IoT and artificial intelligence technologies and the rapid development of the sensor industry, sensors are also moving towards miniaturization, integration, and intelligence.
