Any type of measuring instrument has its own characteristics, and the intelligent vortex flowmeter is no exception. In order to better serve flow measurement work, practical experience from production sites has shown that the following precautions should be given sufficient attention by relevant management and usage departments.
① After selecting the type of instrument (such as an intelligent vortex flowmeter), it is crucial to prioritize the selection of instrument specifications and their supporting components. In one sentence, choosing the right one is the key to using it well. Therefore, in the selection process, two basic principles should be grasped; Namely: firstly, to ensure the accuracy of use, and secondly, to ensure production safety. To achieve this, three selection parameters must be implemented, namely the maximum, minimum, and commonly used instantaneous flow rates in the near and long term (mainly used to select the size specifications of the instrument), the design pressure of the measured medium (mainly used to select the nominal pressure rating of the instrument), and the working pressure (mainly used to select the pressure rating of the instrument pressure sensor).
② On the one hand, conducting pre use calibration takes into account the current difficulties in on-site calibration of such instruments. In addition, if the intention of purchasing is to apply this type of instrument to more important measurement occasions, such as high flow trade measurement or measurement points with prominent measurement disputes, and the on-site application does not have the conditions for flow online calibration, then in this case, it is too early to easily determine that the entire performance of the meter is qualified based solely on a factory qualification certificate provided by the manufacturer at the time of purchase. Therefore, in order to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the measurement results of the instrument in future work processes, it is necessary to send it to a department with the ability and qualifications to perform a full flow range system calibration before formal installation.
③ Although this type of instrument does not have many special requirements for process installation and usage environment, any type of flow measuring instrument has a commonality, which is to avoid vibration and high-temperature environment interference components (such as compressors, separators, pressure regulating valves, reducers and manifolds, elbows, etc.) as much as possible, maintain smooth and straight inner walls of the straight pipe sections before and after the instrument, and ensure that the measured medium is a clean single-phase fluid.
④ Strengthening post management: Although this type of instrument has multiple automatic disposal functions and low power consumption characteristics, it still needs to be strengthened in management after being put into operation. For example, in order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the instrument's long-term operation (to avoid unexpected shutdowns and data loss), regular system calibration (every 1 '>~2 years), recording of header data (daily or weekly), replacement of medium parameters (monthly or quarterly), and irregular checking of battery condition, instrument coefficients, and lead seals should be carried out.
⑤ Pay attention to internal maintenance. If regular inspection or cleaning of the measuring chamber and its components of the instrument is required due to dirty air or other reasons, one thing must be particularly noted: for the same specification of rotary vortex flowmeter, its core components such as vortex generator and guide body cannot be interchanged. Otherwise, the instrument measurement coefficient must be recalibrated and the temperature and pressure sensors equipped with it must be systematically calibrated.
