The basic theory behind the XH split type electromagnetic flowmeter is Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. When a conductor cuts through magnetic field lines, an induced electromotive force will be generated inside the conductor. According to this principle, the volume of the conductive fluid flowing inside the tube can be measured. The direction of the conductive fluid flow is perpendicular to the direction of the electromagnetic field. An alternating magnetic field is applied in the vertical direction of the tube, and a pair of electrodes are installed on both sides of the inner wall of the insulated lined tube. The connection between the two electrodes is both perpendicular to the axis of the tube and perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field. When the conductive liquid flows through the tube, an induced electromotive force UE is generated on the two electrodes due to cutting the magnetic field lines.
