The new generation of intelligentHeavy hammer level gaugeThe measurement system is particularly suitable for other level gauges that cannot work due to the influence of dust, steam, temperature, etc., and for demanding measurement situations. Especially suitable for various silos in cement plants and powder and ash silos in power plants in harsh environments.

*Ultrasonic level gauges, due to their susceptibility to dust and temperature, are affected by the uncertain reflection and ineffective echo of irregular material surfaces on incident waves, resulting in a sharp deterioration of their measurement performance for cement plant materials. The industry consensus is that they have good performance when applied to liquid level measurement.

The radar based level scoring system consists of an inexpensive 5.8GHz pulse radar and a more expensive 24GHz continuous wave radar (FMCW). The former can only be used for liquid level measurement, while the latter can be used for bulk material measurement. However, due to the fact that the reflectivity of materials to radar waves is related to their dielectric constant ε, and most materials in cement plants are not conducive to reflection, the application effect is still poor. In addition, the irregular surface of bulk materials causes uncertain reflection of incident waves and severe interference caused by multiple reflections, which further deteriorates the measurement.

  Heavy hammer level gaugeThe principle is to measure the material level by driving the measuring hammer up and down in the warehouse through a motor. Obviously, it is not affected by the shape of the material surface, material form, or dust. For different materials, only the corresponding measuring hammer needs to be replaced. In addition, the heavy hammer level gauge is designed to be automatically measured by the control computer at regular intervals. Each measurement takes only 0.5 seconds for the heavy hammer to come into contact with the material. In other states, the heavy hammer is at the upper limit (top of the warehouse), which avoids defects such as wear, hanging, and mechanical damage caused by the material in contact level gauges.

Due to the variety of measurement methods available for liquid materials, heavy hammer level gauges are generally not necessary. Therefore, heavy hammer level gauges are mainly used for measuring bulk materials and have advantages in certain situations. In addition, the range of the heavy hammer level gauge can reach up to 170m, making it more advantageous in large-scale applications. The material level measurement in cement plants is almost always for loose materials with a large range, which perfectly meets the characteristics of heavy hammer type. Therefore, the new generation of heavy hammer level gauges produced by combining advanced control and servo technology with traditional heavy hammer measurement principles is a good solution for level measurement in cement plants. The extensive practice of level gauges in cement plants has proven this point.

2、 Measurement principle

The measurement begins, and the sensor (probe) on site controls the heavy hammer to quickly descend to the surface of the material. As soon as the measuring hammer touches the surface of the material being measured, it immediately rises and returns to the position to be measured. The encoder inside the sensor emits a pulse signal equivalent to the displacement of the heavy hammer, which is calculated and processed by an embedded computer. The position or relative position of the material surface is displayed on the controller panel, and a 4-20mA standard instrument signal corresponding to the material level is output. Until the start of the next cycle, the entire process is initiated by a manual button or timed by an embedded computer. This measurement system is particularly suitable for other level gauges that cannot work due to the influence of dust, steam, temperature, etc., and for demanding measurement situations.
