With the rapid development of electronic information technology and the sewage treatment industry itself, automatic control systems have gradually been applied to the monitoring process of sewage treatment processes, and have achieved good results, saving both human resources and energy, with broad development prospects. According to China Water Network, since the 1980s, thousands of sewage treatment plants have been built nationwide, using self-control systems regardless of the scale of treatment. On March 27th, at the Beijing Qinghe Sewage Treatment Plant under the Beijing Drainage Group, the Beijing Drainage Association held a "Sewage Treatment Automatic Control System Application Exchange Meeting". Experts and technical personnel from member units of the Beijing Drainage Association, professional technical management personnel of automatic control systems in various sewage treatment plants in the suburbs and suburbs of Beijing, and relevant professionals from sewage treatment plant design and construction units attended the meeting and discussed and exchanged past experiences and future technological development directions.
At this exchange meeting, cutting-edge topics such as dissolved oxygen control and fuzzy control were introduced, as well as experience exchanges in practical applications of sewage treatment plants in various regions. Experts believe that this type of communication is becoming increasingly important as it benefits the overall level of the industry and enables companies providing automatic control system services to truly understand customer needs.
Experts introduce that in the management of urban sewage treatment plants, in the early days, it was mainly carried out by technical personnel for on-site testing and debugging. Due to the large number of treatment structures in the treatment plant, there are many complex project indicators that need to be tested in real time, such as pH value of inlet and outlet water, inlet flow rate, dissolved oxygen content in the aeration tank, etc. If these indicators need to be tested in real time one by one, it will undoubtedly consume a lot of manpower and material resources. Developed countries have invested a large amount of funds and scientific research efforts to strengthen the monitoring, operation, and management of sewage treatment facilities after the popularization of secondary treatment, achieving computer control, alarm, calculation, and instantaneous recording. Although there is still a certain gap between the self-control system of sewage treatment plants in China and developed countries, with the development of electronic information technology, hardware products will be more reliable and faster, and software products will be more friendly, convenient, powerful, and standardized.
Meng Shaoqing, Chairman of China National Chemical Control (Beijing) Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd., told China Water Network reporters that the sewage treatment self-control system should be closely integrated with the process and its important significance for the safety production process should be considered. After a new sewage treatment plant is built, it usually takes 3-6 months to operate normally due to various factors. After helping the owner build the self-control system, Zhongself-control also needs to provide a series of training, one of which is "fault diagnosis and training" in their expert system. Training is very important because the technical content of the sewage treatment self-control system is high and has a certain degree of complexity. It is necessary to enable the employees of the sewage treatment plant to truly understand through learning in order to ensure normal management in the future.
Meng Shaoqing said that the cost of building an automatic control system in a sewage treatment plant generally accounts for 10% of the equipment, including control instruments, flow meters, and so on. The management and control of sewage treatment plants used to be rough control, but with an automatic control system, control can be achieved, which can avoid many mistakes, reduce energy consumption, and lower costs. This includes the management of pump stations, which is very promising. However, due to some management system problems, some good practices and technologies cannot be effectively promoted and applied. However, the market prospects in this field are very broad, and it can indeed be called a sunrise industry. Due to the relatively low level of self-control in the current environmental protection industry, there is great room for development. In the field of sewage treatment, new factories need to install self-control systems, and old factories also need to be renovated, which brings good market opportunities to related enterprises.
