Polyamide, commonly known as Nylon or PA in English, is a general term for thermoplastic resins containing repeated amide groups - [NHCO] - on the main chain of the molecule. It includes aliphatic PA, aliphatic aromatic PA, and aromatic PA. Among them, aliphatic PA has many varieties, high yields, and wide applications. Its name is determined by the specific number of carbon atoms in the synthesized monomer. Invented by the renowned American chemist Carothers and his research team.

Polyamide is mainly used for synthetic fibers, and its outstanding advantage is that its wear resistance is higher than all other fibers, 10 times higher than cotton wear resistance and 20 times higher than wool wear resistance. Adding some polyamide fibers to blended fabrics can greatly improve their wear resistance; When stretched to 3-6%, the elastic recovery rate can reach 100%; Can withstand tens of thousands of twists and turns without breaking.

The strength of polyamide fiber is 1-2 times higher than cotton, 4-5 times higher than wool, and 3 times higher than viscose fiber. However, polyamide fibers have poor heat and light resistance, as well as poor retention, resulting in clothes that are not as stiff as polyester. In addition, both nylon-66 and nylon-6 used for clothing have the disadvantages of poor moisture absorption and dyeing properties. Therefore, new varieties of polyamide fibers - nylon-3 and nylon-4- have been developed, which have the characteristics of light weight, excellent wrinkle resistance, good breathability, as well as good durability, dyeing and heat setting. Therefore, they are considered to have great development prospects.

This type of product has a wide range of applications and is a good material for replacing metals such as steel, iron, and copper with plastic. It is an important engineering plastic; Cast nylon is widely used as a substitute for wear-resistant parts in mechanical equipment, replacing copper and alloys as wear-resistant components in equipment. Suitable for producing wear-resistant parts, transmission structural components, household appliance parts, automotive manufacturing parts, screw rod prevention mechanical parts, chemical machinery parts, and chemical equipment. Such as turbines, gears, bearings, impellers, crankshafts, instrument panels, drive shafts, valves, blades, screws, high-pressure washers, screws, nuts, sealing rings, shuttles, bushings, shaft sleeve connectors, etc.

So modified nylon expands due to water absorption, making the size of nylon plastic products unstable. Nylon needs to undergo humidity control treatment because it is prone to oxidation and discoloration when in contact with air at high temperatures (nylon has reducibility), which is a key step in ensuring the dimensional stability of modified engineering plastic products.During the placement of nylon products, water molecules penetrate into the slices and bind with nylon molecules, breaking the hydrogen bonds between molecules, increasing their activity, and increasing their tensile and bending strength. Due to the crystallization of the nylon matrix, the impact strength is also improved. After the crystallization is completed, the continued infiltration of water molecules further weakens the intermolecular binding force, and the tensile strength and bending strength will decrease with the increase of moisture content, while the impact strength will increase.
