The multi-channel spectrometer has the following specific functions:
Date: 2025-08-16Read: 9
  Multi channel spectrophotometerIt is a key equipment in the field of optical measurement and analysis, which integrates advanced optical and electronic technologies and can efficiently and accurately obtain spectral information of substances. It plays an important role in many industries. It is analyzed based on the absorption, emission, or scattering characteristics of substances towards light of different wavelengths. The built-in optical system of the instrument first decomposes the composite light emitted by the light source into monochromatic light arranged in wavelength order. The multi-channel detector can simultaneously detect and convert light signals of different wavelengths, convert the light signals into electrical signals, and then obtain spectral data through the data processing system.
  Multi channel spectrophotometerIts core function revolves around "quickly obtaining full spectrum information", which can be divided into the following main aspects:
1. Composite light splitting and multi wavelength parallel detection
This is the most basic function of a multi-channel spectrometer.
Firstly, composite light containing multiple wavelengths is decomposed into monochromatic light arranged in wavelength order through a spectroscopic system such as a grating or prism;
By utilizing multi-channel detector arrays (such as CCD and PDA) to simultaneously collect light signals of different wavelengths, there is no need to switch wavelengths through mechanical scanning like a single channel spectrometer. Therefore, it is possible to obtain spectral data of the entire band in a very short time (milliseconds to seconds).
For example, when detecting the absorption spectrum of a solution, the absorption intensity of all wavelengths within the UV visible band (200-800nm) can be obtained at once, rather than scanning point by point, greatly improving efficiency.
2. Spectral characteristic analysis and qualitative/quantitative detection of substances
The core application function is to analyze the chemical or physical properties of substances by analyzing the collected spectral data.
Qualitative analysis: Each substance exhibits characteristic absorption, emission, or reflection peaks at specific wavelengths due to its molecular structure, chemical bond vibrations, and other characteristics (such as UV absorption peaks of organic compounds and characteristic emission peaks of metal ions). By comparing the sample spectrum with the "spectral fingerprint" of the standard substance, the composition of the substance can be determined. For example, using Raman spectroscopy to identify the molecular structures of different polymers.
Quantitative analysis: According to the Lambert Beer law, the absorption/emission intensity of a substance towards specific wavelengths of light is directly proportional to its concentration. By measuring the light intensity at characteristic wavelengths and combining it with a standard curve, the concentration of the target component in the sample can be calculated. For example, detecting the concentration of heavy metal ions in water and the pigment content in food.
3. Dynamic process monitoring and rapid change capture
Due to the parallelism of multi-channel detection, the instrument can track spectral signals that change over time in real time, making it suitable for studying fast dynamic processes.
For example:
Chemical reaction kinetics: monitoring the spectral changes of reactants/products during the reaction process, analyzing reaction rates and mechanisms;
Biological process monitoring: tracking spectral characteristics of real-time changes in cell metabolism, protein folding, etc;
Industrial online monitoring: Quickly detect spectral indicators of products (such as turbidity of beverages and purity of plastics) in the production line to achieve real-time quality control.
4. Multi parameter synchronous analysis
It can simultaneously obtain optical parameters of samples in multiple bands, achieving multi-dimensional information fusion.
For example, in material analysis, it is possible to detect the ultraviolet absorption of the sample (reflecting electronic transitions), simultaneously obtain the visible reflectance (reflecting color characteristics), or combine infrared spectroscopy to analyze molecular functional groups, thereby more comprehensively characterizing material properties.
5. Weak signal detection and high sensitivity analysis
By optimizing the optical system (such as reducing stray light), equipping high-sensitivity detectors (such as refrigerated CCD), and signal amplification circuits, weak light signals (such as fluorescence and Raman scattering) can be captured.
This feature enables it to be applied in high sensitivity scenarios such as trace substance detection (such as ppb level pollutants in the environment), biological fluorescence labeling imaging (such as intracellular trace substance tracking), etc.
