III Working principle explanation:
1.Working principle of sensor:
The wind speed sensor adopts a three cup rotating frame structure. The three cup rotating frame has good linearity and a relatively simple structure. In order to improve its dynamic performance, we use engineering plastics to make the wind cup to reduce the distance constant of the wind speed sensor. The photoelectric method is used to convert the rotational speed of the wind cup into a frequency signal of electrical pulses for easy acquisition and processing of the whole machine. This is a contactless structure that is conducive to reducing the starting wind speed of the wind speed sensor and improving its reliability.
The wind direction sensor adopts a wind vane type wind direction sensor. The rotating shaft of the wind vane drives the photoelectric encoder to convert the wind direction into Gray code, which is then converted into binary code using software in the computer. The non-contact structure of the photoelectric encoder is beneficial for reducing the starting wind speed of the wind direction sensor and improving the reliability of the wind direction sensor.
2.Circuit Introduction:
This instrument is powered by AC 220VAC mains electricity, and a 5VDC DC power supply is generated by a power filter and an AC-DC converter to meet the needs of various parts of the instrument.
3.Measurement and processing of wind direction and speed:
The sampling period for wind direction and speed is 0.25 seconds (in accordance with the recommended requirements of WMO). The sampling is first carried out using the EMP sliding average method to obtain the 3-second average of wind direction and speed, which is the relationship between gust wind direction and wind speed. Then use the non sliding arithmetic mean method to calculate the 30 second arithmetic mean of wind direction and speed based on the 3-second average of wind direction and speed. Then, using the arithmetic mean of 30 seconds, apply the sliding arithmetic mean method to calculate the arithmetic sliding averages of wind direction and speed for 2 and 10 minutes, respectively, with a sliding step size of 30 seconds.
The instrument can calculate the maximum value and corresponding wind direction of the 3-second average wind speed from the beginning of this hour until now, as well as the occurrence time; The maximum value and corresponding wind direction of the 10 minute average wind speed, as well as the time of occurrence.
The instrument compares the measured gust value with the pre-set warning set value and alarm value inside the instrument. Once the gust wind speed exceeds the warning value (or alarm value), the instrument will issue a warning signal.
At each hour, the instrument will display the wind parameters for the hour (average values for 3 seconds, 2 minutes, and 10 minutes), the maximum value of the average wind speed for 3 seconds in the past hour, the corresponding wind direction, and the time of occurrence; The maximum value of the 10 minute average wind speed, corresponding wind direction, and occurrence time are stored in the extended EEPROM of the instrument for the upper computer to call.
4 Operation and usage instructions:
1.Installation and installation of instruments (refer to the instrument installation diagram)
The wind direction sensor and wind speed sensor are installed on the mounting bases at both ends of the installation beam. There are 12 core cable plugs corresponding to the wind direction sensor and 7-core cable plugs corresponding to the wind speed sensor inside the mounting bases. After correctly connecting the cable plug to the socket at the bottom of the corresponding sensor, install the sensor on the mounting seat, and then tighten the three M6 hex head bolts on the wind speed sensor to complete the installation of the wind speed sensor. Then install the support column at the bottom of the installation beam into the hole in the middle of the installation base, and fix it with 2 M8 hex head bolts. Next, fix the installation base with three M12 hex head bolts at the location where the user needs to install the sensor (the diameter of the three holes on the installation base is 13, evenly distributed on the circumference of 120, as shown in the figure). Then rotate the wind direction sensor to accurately align the north pointing rod on the wind direction sensor with the true north direction and tighten the three M6 hex head bolts on the wind direction sensor. The installation of the sensor is completed.
Instrument setup diagram 2. Electrical connections of the instrument
A 10 core signal cable is used to connect the host and sensor of the anemometer. After the sensor is installed, connect one end of the randomly configured cable to the cable socket under the installation beam, and the other end to the 12 core circular socket on the rear panel of the host, and tighten the locking ring to ensure a good connection between the plug and the socket.

3.Operation of the instrument:
Please refer to the front and rear panel diagram of the FYF anemometer host on the next page.
This instrument is powered by mains electricity. Before use, confirm that the power supply for the instrument is 220 × (1 ± 15%) VAC 50Hz, and the capacity of the fuse in the fuse holder on the back panel of the instrument is 0.
The sensor of the instrument is connected to the circular sensor plug socket on the back panel of the host through a cable, and the power cord is reliably connected to the mains power supply. The grounding protection wire of the instrument is properly connected to the ground (i.e. the ground wire in the single-phase 220V three core mains power supply should be reliably grounded).
Turn the boat shaped power switch on the rear panel of the host to the on position, and the instrument will be put into operation. Before the instrument is officially measured, all the light-emitting diodes on the instrument panel and all the light-emitting segments on the digital tube flash for about three seconds to check whether the instrument's light-emitting tube and digital tube are intact.
After power on, the instrument automatically enters the display mode of 3-second average value, which is the gust parameter. The 'Real time' indicator light is on, indicating that the real-time wind parameters are currently displayed. The '3-second' indicator light is on, indicating that the 3-second average value is currently displayed. The wind speed digital display shows the gust wind speed, the wind direction digital display shows the gust wind direction, and the disc display shows the gust wind direction in azimuth (32 azimuth resolution).
Press the "Average Time/+1" button, and the "3 seconds" indicator light will turn off, while the "2 minutes" indicator light will turn on, indicating that the current display has been changed to the average wind parameter of 2 minutes. Due to the display cycle, replacement of the display may take 1-3 seconds
Press the "Average Time/+1" button again, and the "2 Minutes" indicator light will turn off, while the "10 Minutes" indicator light will turn on, indicating that the current display has been changed to the average wind parameter of 10 minutes.
When the average values of 3 seconds, 2 minutes, and 10 minutes are displayed, if the "Average/Extreme/-1" button is pressed, the "Extreme" indicator light on the panel will light up. At this time, the wind speed digital display will show the maximum gust wind speed that occurred in the past 3 seconds, 2 minutes, and 10 minutes, while the wind direction digital display and the disk wind direction display will show the corresponding wind direction when the maximum gust occurred.
To change the setting value of the wind speed warning, press the "Work Mode" button. At this time, the "Real time" indicator light will turn off, while the "Settings" and "Warning" indicators will light up to indicate entering the setting state of the warning wind speed setting value. The wind direction digital display will show zero, the disc display will turn off, and the wind speed digital display will show the internal wind speed warning value. Use the "Average Time/+1" and "Average/Extreme Value/-1" buttons to increase or decrease the wind speed warning value. When the changes are correct, press the "Working Mode" button, and the instrument will enter the setting of the alarm wind speed setting value. The "Pre alarm" indicator light will turn off and the "Alarm" indicator light will turn on. The instrument enters the setting state of the alarm wind speed setting value, and its operation is similar to the setting of the warning value. After setting the alarm value, press the "Working Mode" button again to indicate the alarm value and return the instrument to real-time measurement mode. The "Settings" and "Alarm" indicator lights are off, and the "Real time" indicator light is on. At this point, the pre-set warning and alarm values are also stored in the system's EEPROM, which can be saved even after the instrument is powered off. They can be automatically restored the next time the power is turned on, without the need to reset them unless the original settings need to be changed.
When setting, the warning value should be set to be less than the alarm value.
When the gust wind speed is greater than the set warning wind speed, the "Warning Warning" indicator light will turn on and the instrument will give a warning signal. If the wind speed of the array further increases, when it exceeds the set value of the alarm wind speed, the "Alarm" indicator light will turn on, and the instrument will give an alarm signal. The warning signal will only disappear and the warning indicator light will turn off when the gust wind speed is lower than the set warning wind speed. Control relays can be installed according to user requirements, and the contacts of the relay can be used to control the user's equipment when warning and alarm signals occur.
