What are the precautions to be taken during the debugging process of FESTO valve island?
When a large number of solenoid valves need to be installed, the air circuit board becomes particularly effective. It is usually used in combination with Festo's traditional series of tiger valves. In order to pursue a more simplified installation method for solenoid valves, Festo has developed the PRS type air circuit board (P port for gas supply, R and S ports for exhaust), on which the 2000 type tiger valve is installed.
With the widespread use of pneumatic technology, a large number of solenoid valves are often required on a machine. As each valve requires a separate connecting cable, how to reduce the number of connecting cables has become an issue that cannot be ignored. Due to the inability of the pneumatic circuit board to achieve electrical signal transmission of the valve, Feslo has attempted to simplify the circuit on the basis of solving the simplification of the pneumatic circuit, and is committed to the research of the electric pneumatic combination valve island. That is, the electronic control part can be easily connected to the pneumatic circuit board through an interface and control the solenoid valves on it, without the need to independently lead out signal control lines for individual solenoid valves. Improve operational accuracy while reducing wiring workload, and achieve IP65 protection.
FESTO valve islands can be divided into multi pin interface valve islands and fieldbus interface valve islands according to the connection method between the valve island and the controller.
The multi pin interface valve island is connected to the axis/output signal of the programmable controller through a multi strand cable with a multi pin plug, and connected to the output signal end of the sensor through another cable. Compared with conventional connection methods, the interface of the multi pin interface type valve island is simplified into a multi pin plug and a multi strand cable, without the need for a terminal block. At the same time, all signal processing and protection functions have been implemented on the valve island.
However, due to the significant amount of wiring required for the multi cable connection between the programmable controller and the valve island, Festo has successively introduced fieldbus interface type valve islands that simplify data communication through bus protocols. The prominent feature of the bus type valve island is that the data exchange between the valve island and the outside world only needs to be achieved through a two or four shielded cable. This saves wiring time, reduces equipment size, enhances anti-interference ability, and makes data transmission more reliable. Due to the fact that this is the application of fieldbus technology in the field of industrial automation, initially only a few users were interested in it, and the majority held a skeptical attitude. However, in the following months, there were numerous indications that the technology was bound to succeed.

When the 06 type valve island was about to be launched on the market, car manufacturers changed their focus and required the integration of input/output modules, so the 05 type valve island was introduced. Due to the fact that the valves on these series of valve islands are all ISO valves, it mainly depends on the level of development of the car. But nowadays, European and American cars are increasingly inclined to use 03 type valve islands equipped with Maxi valves.
In response to the requirements of distributed control systems, FESTO introduced the CPV compact valve island to the market at the Hanover Fair in 1996.
The appearance of this series of valve islands is very small, but the output flow rate is very large, which is the essential difference between it and other valve types. Each CPV valve island can be decomposed into four sub modules. Each sub module contains 16 input and output signals, so users can freely choose and assemble the valve island in the module according to their actual needs. It mainly includes:
