Differences in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) TVOC VOCs
Date: 2020-06-12Read: 0

VOC: In the ordinary sense, VOC refers to volatile organic compounds. But in terms of environmental protection, it refers to a type of volatile organic compound that is lively and harmful.
TVOC: Various measured VOCs are collectively referred to as total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). Mainly refers to the indicators of common VOCs added indoors.
VOCs: Organic compounds that are volatile under specific conditions. It is defined in detail as organic compounds with a saturated vapor pressure greater than 133.32 Pa at room temperature and a boiling point below 50-260 ℃ at atmospheric pressure, or any volatile organic solid or liquid at room temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Non methane total hydrocarbons refer to the general term for all hydrocarbons other than methane, including alkanes, alkenes, aromatic hydrocarbons, and oxygen-containing hydrocarbons.
Hydrocarbons, including THC and NHMC, are used in the automotive industry.
Why is VOCs treatment more important?
It is an important precursor for PM2.5 and ozone. The situation of atmospheric composite pollution characterized by particulate matter and ozone is severe in China. On the one hand, PM2.5 is the primary pollutant affecting the atmospheric environment, followed only by ozone; On the other hand, since the implementation of the "Ten Measures for Air Quality" in 2013, ozone has become a pollutant that does not decrease but instead increases among the six basic environmental air quality evaluation projects. And VOCs are important precursors for both, and areas with high VOCs emission intensity are basically consistent with the distribution of high-value PM2.5 and ozone concentrations.
