Four major factors affecting the accuracy of liquid flowmeter measurement
Date: 2023-06-25Read: 10

There are many factors that affect the accuracy of liquid flow meters, such as the detection environment (temperature, humidity, pressure, etc.), detection methods, etc. Today, the editor will explain in detail the four major factors that affect the measurement accuracy of Wansheng liquid flow meters:

1. Mechanical wear and tear impact
Generally, after a period of running in, the clearance between the gears is suitable and the leakage rate is relatively small for new liquid flow meters. After 2-3 years of use, the long-term mutual movement of gears in the flowmeter will cause wear on the gear ends and increase the clearance
The leakage flow also increases. Therefore, for frequently used flow metersRegularly conduct inspections and replace worn gears in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation of the flowmeter.

2. Temperature influence

When the temperature rises, the gap between the gears of the liquid flowmeter will increase, and the leakage rate of the flowmeter will also increase. However, it is also necessary to consider the reasons such as the increase in the volume of the measuring space due to the temperature rise and the thermal expansion of the medium.

3. Pressure difference effect
When the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the liquid flowmeter is small and the gear speed is low, the leakage flow rate will be relatively large. When the pressure between the inlet and outlet of the flow meter is too high, the gear rotation torque is large, the speed is too high, and the leakage flow rate will also increase, resulting in significant errors. Therefore, only by controlling the inlet and outlet pressure within an appropriate range can the leakage flow rate of the flow meter be minimized.

4. Influence of medium viscosity
When the viscosity of the medium in a liquid flowmeter changes, the leakage rate also changes significantly. As the viscosity increases, the leakage rate decreases and the error is small. As the viscosity decreases, the leakage rate increases and the error is large. Therefore, JJG667-1997 also stipulates that the viscosity of the medium used for testing and the medium actually used for flow meters should be consistent. When using other media for testing, it is important to note that the introduced error should not exceed one-third of the flowmeter error limit.
