Within the scope, vaccines remain an effective and economical means of preventing and controlling infectious diseases, and their role is irreplaceable. After multiple vaccine incidents such as Changchun Changsheng, public confidence in domestically produced vaccines is also collapsing.
The Prime Minister requested in the directive that the country immediately dispatch an investigation team to thoroughly investigate the entire process chain of vaccine production and sales, and to quickly uncover the truth. No matter which enterprises or individuals are involved, they will be severely punished and never tolerated.
In addition to strengthening the supervision of product production sources, the refrigerated transportation link of the entire vaccine process chain is also an important factor affecting vaccine quality. Our company (Hangzhou Xifu Technology Co., Ltd.) has developed a DLS20 system for vehicle mounted cold chain transportation monitoring equipment, which is a professional device specifically designed for real-time monitoring of the storage temperature of drugs, vaccines, and other products during cold chain transportation based on GSP rules. The data is transmitted in real time to the company's cloud server and can be frequency converted to record storage data. We strictly control the temperature geographic positioning data during transportation, ensuring the safety of drug and vaccine transportation!
In March 2016, the "Shandong Vaccine Incident" caused a sensation nationwide, with vaccines worth 570 million yuan that had not been strictly refrigerated and transported flowing into 18 provinces and cities. For a moment, the whole country was in a state of panic. For a time, the cold chain link of vaccine transportation has become a topic of concern for people.
The safety of pharmaceuticals, especially refrigerated drugs, is directly related to people's livelihood and social stability, and "chain breakage" is one of the important factors causing quality problems of such drugs. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that pharmaceutical cold chain logistics is the top priority of pharmaceutical logistics.
The current situation of pharmaceutical cold chain logistics in China is not optimistic
According to monitoring data from the National Medical Products Administration, the coverage capacity of China's drug cold chain is about 10%, and nearly 20% of drug quality issues are related to the cold chain. The scale of the cold chain drug distribution market is still growing rapidly, but the reality is that many drugs do not have cold chain transportation, which is related to the high investment and low profit margin of pharmaceutical cold chain (the gross profit margin of pharmaceutical distribution enterprises in China is less than 10%). The low profit has intensified disorderly competition.
To investigate the reasons, firstly, the infrastructure is outdated, making it difficult to achieve large-scale transportation of refrigerated goods. The transportation and consignment of refrigerated goods are currently major challenges faced by pharmaceutical companies, especially in underdeveloped second tier cities where logistics enterprises have the conditions for transporting pharmaceutical refrigerated goods. According to data, taking Beijing as an example, among the 28 pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises with a turnover of over 200 million yuan, each has only 1.28 transportation vehicles.
Secondly, the cold chain logistics of refrigerated drugs are mainly undertaken by pharmaceutical companies with drug operation qualifications, and the basic facilities of cold chain logistics are self owned cold storage and fewer refrigerated trucks. The distribution range is also limited to a single province or region, with obvious geographical restrictions.
From the perspective of top-level government design and regulation, there are also many issues, and regulations vary from province to province. Eastern provinces require pharmaceutical companies to have at least two refrigerated trucks, while some central and western provinces only need one; There is a lack of specific standards for using refrigerated insulated boxes or refrigerated trucks for delivering refrigerated drugs; More importantly, there is currently no consensus on how drug regulatory agencies can effectively track their processes using technological means. It is precisely the 'inability to rely on' that has led to chaotic cold chain logistics management in pharmaceutical companies, posing a huge hidden danger to people's medication safety.
Developing pharmaceutical cold chain third-party logistics is imperative
With the increasing size of the drug circulation market and the strengthening of drug supervision, the demand prospects for drug cold chain management market are promising. Although pharmaceutical companies can carry out their own distribution work, large-scale cold chain trunk transportation still relies on social resources, and at this time, third-party medical cold chain logistics has emerged.
