Elliptical gear flowmeterAlso known as displacement flowmeter, it belongs to a type of positive displacement flowmeter and is a high-precision type in flow meters. It uses mechanical measuring elements to continuously divide the fluid into individual known volume parts, and measures the total flow volume based on the number of times the measuring chamber sequentially and repeatedly fills and discharges that volume part of the fluid. Used for precise continuous or intermittent measurement of liquid flow or instantaneous flow in pipelines. It is particularly suitable for flow measurement of high viscosity media such as heavy oil, polyvinyl alcohol, resins, etc. The elliptical gear flowmeter can be made of different materials (cast steel, stainless steel, and 316), and is suitable for flow measurement in industrial sectors such as chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, power, and metallurgical industries.
Elliptical gear flowmeterThe application of this flowmeter can be considered a breakthrough because it is a new type of volumetric flowmeter, also known as a Fuda flowmeter in professional terminology. It is mainly used for precise continuous or intermittent measurement of liquid flow or instantaneous flow in pipelines. It is suitable for media with high viscosity such as oil and resin, and gear flowmeters are very suitable.

Elliptical gear flowmeter belongs to a type of volumetric flowmeter, also known as displacement flowmeter, which is a high-precision type in flow meters. It uses mechanical measuring elements to continuously divide the fluid into individual known volume parts, and measures the total flow volume based on the number of times the measuring chamber sequentially and repeatedly fills and discharges that volume part of the fluid. In principle, a volumetric flowmeter is a hydraulic engine that absorbs a small amount of energy from a fluid. This energy is used to overcome the frictional force caused by the rotation of flow detection components and accessories, while creating a pressure drop at both ends of the instrument's inflow and outflow.
The working principle of a typical elliptical tooth flowmeter is that two elliptical gears have a special shape that rolls and rotates in contact with each other. The lower gear rotates counterclockwise under the pressure difference on both sides, serving as the driving wheel; The upper gear, due to equal pressure on both sides, does not generate rotational torque and is a driven wheel. It is driven by the lower gear and rotates clockwise. Both gears generate rotational torque under differential pressure and continue to rotate. The upper gear becomes the driving wheel, while the lower gear becomes the driven wheel, continuing to rotate and completing a cycle. The fluid volume of four crescent shaped cavities surrounded by gears and shell walls is discharged in one cycle action, and this volume is called the 'circulation volume' of the flowmeter.
