The V-cone flowmeter is a new type of differential pressure flow measurement device that uses a pointed cone installed coaxially inside the measuring tube as the throttling element. It is a new type of throttling device based on the principle of Venturi tube measurement, and integrates the advantages of classic Venturi tube, annular orifice plate, and wear-resistant orifice plate.
Characteristics of V-cone flowmeter:
1. The vertebral body design has a rectifying effect and requires low installation of straight pipe segments
2. Wide range ratio
3. The V-cone sensor is wear-resistant and has good long-term stability performance
4. Good signal stability
5. Low pressure loss
6. The calculation range of V-cone β coefficient is wide
7. The V-cone sensor is non clogging, non adhesive, and has no dead zone, making it particularly suitable for flow measurement of dirty media
8. Can measure media with high temperature and high pressure
9. Complete specifications and flexible installation methods
Main technical parameters of V-shaped cone flowmeter:
1. Accuracy level: ± 0.5% (differential pressure flow transmitter accuracy should be higher than or including 0.2 level), (β: 0.45-0.85. When β<0.55 and range ratio 4:1, accuracy level: ≤ 0.30)
2. Repeatability: 0.1%
3. Working pressure: 0-40MPa (with multiple pressure levels to choose from)
4. Working temperature: -40-850 ℃
5. Environmental temperature: -40-65 ℃
6. Installation requirements for straight pipe section: front 0-3D straight pipe, rear 0-1D straight pipe section
7. Range width ratio: usually 10:1, selecting appropriate parameters can achieve 50:1
8. Small loss: For the same β value, the pressure loss is 1/3-1/5 of the orifice plate
9. Caliber: 15mm -2000mm
10. Applicable medium: V-cone flowmeter sensors are widely used for flow measurement of fluids in industries such as municipal, power, chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, and food processing, and are almost applicable to all gas and liquid media.
Precautions for selecting V-cone flowmeter
When selecting a V-cone flowmeter, the following 7 points should be considered:
1. When designing and selecting V-cone flow sensors, it is necessary to know the detailed process and accurate parameters of the user, or the flowmeter selection specification book of the design institute.
2. According toPhysical and chemical properties of the medium, operating conditions, accuracy, installation requirements, etcMake a selection.
3. According toTypes of media, temperature, pressure, corrosiveness, etcRequest to select the corresponding flowmeterPipes, flanges, cones, pressure gaugesformulaWaiting for material selection.
4. According toTemperature, flow rate, and pressure of the mediumSelect the nominal diameter, wall thickness, pressure rating of the pipe flange, sealing surface, and connection form of the flowmeter pipeline for selection.
5. According toTemperature, pressure, and viscosity of the mediumSelect the pressure tapping method and the material and grade of the pressure tapping connection based on the characteristics of whether it is dirty or not.
6. Based on the above selection combinations, determine the model of the V-cone flow sensor. The structural dimensions can be checked from the dimension table. Whether it comes with matching flanges, bolts, nuts, gaskets, valve groups, and other accessories should be explained in the remarks column. The basic requirements for installing straight pipe sections are to follow the requirements for straight pipe sections.
7. The design and calculation of V-cone flow sensors utilize all process parameters and select appropriate β values for calculation, taking the ideal differential pressure value, range ratio, and pressure.
Fault and solution of V-cone flowmeter
In daily use, V-cone flow meters may also experience malfunctions. Of course, when a malfunction occurs, do not be in a hurry. Please first observe the symptoms of the malfunction and then take targeted measures to solve the problem. Below are some common troubleshooting methods for V-cone flow meters.
The V-cone flowmeter has no display or output after being powered on
1. When the power supply is not connected, or the positive and negative connections are reversed.
Solution:Correctly connect the power supply.
2. The differential pressure transmitter circuit motherboard is damaged
Solution:Replace the circuit motherboard
The differential pressure display value of the V-cone flowmeter has a large deviation
When the pressure pipeline leaks and is exposed at the negative pressure end, the pressure value tends to be higher, while when the positive pressure end leaks, the pressure value tends to be lower.
Solution:
1. Block the leakage point.
2. Check the valve once.
The displayed flow value of the V-cone flowmeter exceeds the tolerance
1. Leakage or blockage in the pressure tapping pipeline
2. Incorrect parameter settings for differential pressure transmitter
Solution:
1. Check the connection between the positive and negative pressure pipes and the positive and negative pressure exhaust valves.
2. Check the internal parameters of the transmitter.
When there is no fluid in the V-cone flowmeter, there is a flow display
1. Differential pressure operates at a given value
2. There is leakage at the negative pressure end
3. Display traffic below the lower limit value
4. Differential pressure sensor damaged
Solution:
Open the exhaust valve of the positive and negative pressure chambers of the differential pressure transmitter and close it after the exhaust is complete.
2. Reset the transmitter zero point.
3. Replace the differential pressure transmitter.
The V-cone flowmeter displays normally with no output.
1. Damaged D/A output section
Solution:
Repair D/A output.
