Our company delivers2setImpact Subsea ISA500Underwater altimeter
Our company recently delivered two sets of ISA500-L underwater altimeters from Impact Subsea in the UK, which are used for underwater robot depth determination and obstacle avoidance. The ISA500 provides ultra long measurement capabilities, exceeding 120 meters. In addition to providing ultra long distance measurement capabilities, the device also has an accuracy of 1 millimeter, allowing for precise underwater distance measurements. As an option, the ISA500 can also provide an integrated attitude and heading reference system (AHRS). This provides highly stable readings for azimuth, pitch, and roll.
ISA500 uses sonar technology for distance measurement.
The device operates at 500kHz by default, utilizing broadband composite transducers, electronic devices, and advanced digital acoustic engines. These combinations enable the device to achieve long distances and high precision.
This device can operate at any frequency from 400 to 600kHz - very suitable for different applications or in conjunction with other underwater or sonar equipment.
The ISA500 can be optionally equipped with an integrated Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) that provides heading, pitch, and roll.
AHRS is based on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology.
In ISA500, there are three MEMS based gyroscopes, accelerometers, and magnetometers. The outputs of these MEMS devices are fused together to provide highly stable heading, pitching, and rolling.
The heading has high elasticity against temporary magnetic interference. Once the device is installed in ROV, AUV, or other underwater applications, the soft iron and hard iron calibration functions will help with this.
