The 34980A multifunctional switch measurement unit has comparable functionality to PXI and VXI, but is easier to use and much cheaper in price. 34980A can help you reduce testing costs and accelerate the integration and development of your testing system.

The 34980A can meet the needs of your up to 20GHz system switch and provide basic measurement and system control. It also provides optional digital multimeter measurement, counter/accumulation function, digital I/O with code generator capability, and analog output that can generate basic waveforms.

All of this is in a low-priced compact chassis. Through its standard connectors and software drivers, computer standard I/O and web browser interfaces, 34980A can be easily integrated into a system functional testing and multi-channel data acquisition system.

Flexible switching, measurement, and system control
The 34980A can accommodate up to 8 plug-in modules, providing flexibility to meet your testing needs. There are 19 different modules for you to choose from to determine your own configuration method. You can purchase the modules you need now and add or reconfigure them in the future when your needs change.

Whether you need to measure temperature, AC or DC voltage, resistance, frequency, current, or perform specialized measurements, the 34980A desktop instrument provides the functionality you need. High performance switches that adapt to different measurements do not require external signal conditioning. You can choose different switch types and topologies in the frequency range of DC to 20GHz. The 34980A provides a high-density multiplexer for scanning multiple channels, a switch matrix for simultaneously connecting multiple measurement points, and a universal switch that can adapt to simple control and high-power needs.

Optimize the testing system
The 34980A has the performance you need and can adapt to medium to high density switch/measurement applications, such as design validation, functional testing, and data acquisition needs. Your signal can be switched to the correct measuring device without affecting its signal integrity. Switch your signal to the optional internal digital multimeter to achieve the best test throughput during switch closure. You can also easily connect to external instruments such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other instruments. Through the built-in Ethernet interface, you can also remotely control 34980A and collect data.
