The Cisco Aironet 1200 series access points not only set enterprise standards for high-performance, secure, manageable, and reliable next-generation wireless local area networks (WLANs), but also provide investment protection as they can be upgraded and comply with current WLAN standards. The modular design of the Cisco Aironet 1200 supports IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b technologies, and it can operate in either single-mode (802.11b or 802.11a) or dual-mode (802.11b+802.11a) operating modes. Customers can purchase only the Cisco Aironet 1200 components they need, and then reconfigure and upgrade them when their requirements increase in the future. In addition, using Cisco Aironet 1200 to build the customer's wireless LAN infrastructure enables the customer to achieve the highest mobility and flexibility, as the customer can access all network resources immediately from almost anywhere wireless access is deployed.
Modular design adopted to achieve customer specific functions and upgraded features provided to protect investments
The Cisco Aironet 1200 series can protect current and future network infrastructure investments. The modular design of the Cisco Aironet 1200 series complies with IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b standards, allowing for the establishment of single band and dual band configurations, as well as on-site modification of these configurations as requirements increase or technology develops. 802.11a supports data rates of up to 54Mbps and eight non overlapping channels, providing not only high performance but also the highest capacity and scalability. 802.11b provides a data rate of up to 11Mbps and three non overlapping channels, which can support widely deployed 802.11b clients. 802.11b adopts a micro PCI rack, which can be upgraded to higher speed 2.4GHz technology, such as the IEEE 802.11g standard draft.
