System Introduction:

MIRA-35C is a high-sensitivity Ka band Doppler radar that uses magnetron pulse technology to detect clouds and mist in the atmosphere. It emits linearly polarized signals while receiving both co polarized and orthogonal polarized signals, detecting Doppler reflectance spectra and linear depolarization ratio (LDR). Reflectance is used to determine the density of cloud components, while LDR is used to distinguish cloud types.

The magnetron used in MIRA-35C has a lower peak power compared to the high-end MIRA-35. This reduction is partly due to the fact that the lower the peak power, the less signal attenuation occurs during transmission and reception. Moreover, the compact design of MIRA-35C reduces the loss of internal waveguides, while its sensitivity is only 9 decibels lower than MIRA-35. Due to the smaller magnetron, the heat dissipation during signal transmission is also 10 times less. Therefore, it is easier to install sufficient passive cooling components on the scanning system. At the same time, due to the lower pulse power, there is no need to use dry air for waveguide pressurization.
