The instrument adopts a 1000W high-power external heating distillation method to avoid dry burning (overheating) caused by internal heating. The 50ml large capacity distillation body has improved the testing accuracy compared to conventional (20ml). This instrument is easy to operate and serves as the foundation for understanding the solid phase concentration and composition, viscosity, and filtration control of water-based drilling fluids. Operating principle:

Heat a known volume of water-based drilling fluid sample in a still, evaporate and condense its liquid phase components, and collect them in a graduated cylinder. The liquid volume is directly determined from the readings of the oil and water phases in the graduated cylinder. The total solid phase volume (suspended and dissolved) is obtained from the difference (total sample volume - liquid phase volume). Due to the fact that any dissolved solids will remain in the still, calculations are necessary to determine the volume of suspended solids, and the relative volume of low density solids and weighting materials can also be calculated.
