Ductile iron casting

Ductile iron castings originated in the 1950s and are a type of high-strength cast iron material that is widely used in the mechanical manufacturing industry. Their performance is comparable to that of steel, and their excellent properties have been successfully applied in casting parts with complex stress, high strength, toughness, and wear resistance. The emergence of replacing steel with iron mainly refers to ductile iron castings. Ductile iron castings are derived from spherical graphite obtained through spheroidization and inoculation, which can effectively improve the mechanical properties of cast iron, enhance toughness and plasticity, and thus achieve higher strength than carbon steel. At present, casting can be applied to solve some parts with complex stress, high requirements for strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Ductile iron castings have been applied in almost all major industrial sectors, which require high strength, plasticity, toughness, wear resistance, and durability. Ductile iron has high thermal and mechanical impact resistance, high or low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. In order to meet these changes in usage conditions, there are many grades of ductile iron available, providing a wide range of mechanical and physical properties.

Our company has been undertaking various sizes of ductile iron parts for many years, with material grades including QT400-18, QT400-15, QT500-7, QT600-3, and QT700-2. The maximum single piece production capacity is below 5 tons.
