Do not change the range alarm point of the combustible gas alarm casually. We need to explain why the range of the combustible gas alarm is 0-100%. The lower limit of explosion for each combustible gas is different. For the convenience of reading, the display data of the combustible gas alarm is designed to be 100 parts, and the air volume ratio is converted into the unit of explosion lower limit. The alarm point of most combustible gas alarms is set between 0-100% L E L, and its increment is the amount of 1% LEL per unit change, because the standard uses the percentage of LEL to formulate the hazard level index. The general alarm limit is 10% or 25% LEL, and the set value on many instruments is set to 25% LEL. But whenever the reading exceeds 25% LEL, it means there may be a risk of combustion or abnormal conditions. 25% is the alarm value specified in the national standard "Design Specification for Detection and Alarm of Combustible and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industry", numbered GB50493-2009. For urban gas, the alarm value is 20%, which is relatively scientific. As for 15%, 17%, and 30%, they are not very scientific. In an absolutely safe environment, the LEL must be 0%.

The combustible gas alarm can effectively detect the concentration of combustible gases and prevent the concentration of toxic gases from exceeding the standard after gas leakage. A combustible gas alarm is composed of a gas alarm controller and a gas detector. The combustible gas alarm controller can be placed in the duty room and mainly controls various monitoring points. The combustible gas detector is installed in the location where gas is most prone to leakage. The core component of the gas detector is a built-in gas sensor, which detects the concentration of gas in the air. The gas detector converts the gas concentration detected by the sensor into an electrical signal, which is transmitted to the controller through a cable. The higher the combustible gas concentration, the stronger the electrical signal. When the gas concentration reaches or exceeds the alarm point set by the gas alarm controller, the gas alarm controller sends an alarm signal and can activate external devices such as solenoid valves and exhaust fans to automatically eliminate hidden dangers.
