Electronic scales that can be used in places with explosive hazards are called explosion-proof scales. To ensure safety, explosion-proof weighing instruments are required in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, grain, and textile.

When oxygen (air), explosive substances, and ignition sources (such as electric sparks or hot surfaces) coexist in the environment, it can cause an explosion. Explosion proof weighing instruments must control at least one of these factors to achieve the purpose of explosion prevention. This is the principle of explosion triangle.
