High temperature and high pressure thermocouple is a sensor specially designed for temperature measurement in high temperature and high pressure environments, which works based on the principle of thermoelectric effect. High temperature and high voltage thermocouples are mainly composed of hot electrodes, insulating sleeves, protective sleeves, and junction boxes
Thermoelectric electrode: It is a core component typically composed of two different metal materials to form a closed circuit and generate thermoelectric potential.
Insulation sleeve: used to protect the thermoelectric electrode and ensure its normal operation.
Protective sleeve: used to prevent the influence of external environment on thermocouples, such as corrosion and mechanical damage. It is usually made of high temperature resistant materials such as stainless steel, ceramics, etc.
Junction box: used to collect and transmit the output signals of thermocouples for subsequent data processing and display.
High temperature and high pressure thermocouples can be classified into various types based on the different electrode materials, such as K-type, E-type, J-type, T-type, etc. Among them, K-type thermocouples are made of nickel chromium nickel aluminum material, which has the characteristic of rapid response; The electrode material of E-type thermocouple is nickel chromium constantan, which is affordable and widely used; J-type thermocouples are based on iron constantan aluminum and are commonly used in the field of industrial automation; T-type thermocouples use copper constantan nickel silicon electrodes and are particularly suitable for low-temperature measurements. In addition, there are precious metal thermocouples such as B-type, R-type, S-type, and N-type, which have high measurement accuracy and stability and are widely used in fields such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, and power. They are particularly suitable for temperature measurement and control in high-temperature and high-pressure places such as refineries and high-pressure polyethylene. It can be used to measure the temperature of high-temperature furnaces, high-temperature liquids, high-temperature gases, etc., ensuring the stability and efficiency of the production process.
Installation and maintenance of high temperature and high pressure thermocouples:
Installation: When installing high temperature and high pressure thermocouples, it should be ensured that the working end of the temperature sensing element is located in the area with the highest flow velocity and inserted in the direction of the airflow. At the same time, the end of the protective sleeve should exceed the centerline of the flow velocity by a certain distance to ensure measurement accuracy. In addition, attention should be paid to the sealing of the junction box and the safety of electrical connections.
Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain, including checking the integrity of protective sleeves, cleaning temperature sensing components, and checking the reliability of electrical connections. During maintenance, mechanical damage or chemical corrosion to the thermocouple should be avoided.
