The IPA patch clamp amplifier system (hereinafter referred to as the "IPA system") is a highly automated patch clamp amplifier system, and all functions are completed through computer software. Including IPA patch clamp amplifier (available in IPA and IPA-2 models), analog-to-digital converter, and SutterPatch data acquisition and analysis software, all three are fully integrated together.

Amplifier parameters
1.1 IPA-2 is a dual probe, equivalent to two patch clamp amplifiers, while IPA is a single probe patch clamp amplifier.
1.2 A highly automated amplifier controlled by a computer, with the instrument panel fully controlled by the computer, achieving the integration of the amplifier, converter, and software.
The probe has a feedback resistance of 500M Ω and records a maximum current of ± 20nA.
The frequency bandwidth of the 1.4 probe input signal is 20kHz.
In the 1.5 voltage clamp mode, when using an 8-pole low-pass Bessel filter, the RMS noise level of the circuit breaker is ≤ 250fA/1kHz, ≤ 750fA/5kHz, ≤ 1.4pA/10kHz
1.6 has a 4-pole low-pass Bessel filter with a filtering frequency range of 500Hz~20kHz and 6 selectable bits.
1.7 has a voltage clamp mode, with a clamp potential output range of ± 1000mV.
1.8 has a true current clamp mode (voltage follower):
The clamping current output range is ± 20nA;
Voltage clamp function with stable membrane potential in current clamp mode;
Voltage rise time (Rs=10M Ω)<29 μ s/12kHz.
1.9 has automatic compensation function for electrode capacitance and membrane capacitance. The compensation scope is:
The maximum compensation amplitude value of electrode capacitance is 25pF, and the maximum compensation value of time constant is 10 μ s;
The maximum compensation value of the membrane capacitor is 100pF.
The 1.10 series resistor has prediction and correction compensation methods, with a maximum compensation value of 100 M Ω.
1.11 Output gain Gain range: 0.5-25mV/pA (voltage clamp mode); 10-500mV/mV (current clamp mode).
1.12 has Lock In function (with a base frequency of up to 1kHz), which can be used to study endocytosis/exocytosis mechanisms.
1.13 has an amplifier expansion panel, making communication with external devices easier.
1.14 Quartz electrode holder with ultra-low thermal expansion can effectively reduce electrode drift.

2.1 Integrated with amplifier.
2.2 The resolution is 16 bits, and the maximum sampling frequency for a single lead is 50kHz.
2.5 Connected to a computer via a high-speed USB interface (2.0), it can be directly confirmed by the acquisition software.
2.6 Number of leads: There are a total of 4 analog signal inputs, 2 analog signal outputs, and 8 digital signal outputs.
2.7 Number of derivative input leads: 10.
2.8 It can output the recorded analog signals to other external acquisition systems and receive external command signals.
Data Acquisition and Analysis Software
3.1 Data collection and analysis are both conducted within the same software.
3.2 The acquisition software has the function of online clearing of 50Hz AC noise
3.3 The acquisition software has a Lock In function for measuring cell phagocytosis/exocytosis, with a measurement frequency of up to 1kHz.
3.4 The collected data can track and record up to 600 metadata describing experimental data (such as animal species, genotype, cell type, environmental temperature, resistance value, capacitance value, and other experimental related information).
The 3.5 analysis software has modules for neural discharge analysis, action potential analysis, camera image analysis, and single channel recording analysis.
3.6 The analysis software has a fast power clamp analysis function.
3.7 Analysis software can directly generate high-quality paper graphics for publishing articles.
3.8 Computer operating system: ≥ Windows 10 (64 bit), ≥ macOS 10.11 (El Capitan).
