The new IX3 series, as a highly scalable optical platform capable of providing live cell imaging, is built on a strong technological foundation, with flexible structures, easy to use optical paths, and provides high-resolution, high contrast wide field images. All designs are based on the voice of users and the workflow needs of scientists. They are widely applied in fields such as cell biology, neurobiology, developmental biology, molecular biology, and photobiology, and will become powerful weapons for researchers to conduct higher-level research on living cells.

Layered optical path structure

IX73 and IX83 can be flexibly configured with single-layer and double-layer optical paths according to user needs, plus other optionsOlympus microscopeComponents that can achieve multiple imaging technologies. From long-term sequence imaging and other cutting-edge technologies to temporary file recording. The applicable modules include: fluorescent filter turntable, side port, objective magnification converter, etc. The module installation is convenient, allowing users to build a simple, unique, and flexible system.

Excellent image quality, precise imaging
High NA objective lens

The high NA phase difference apochromatic objective lens (UPLSAPO100 × OPH, PLAPON60 × OPH) can achieve high-precision observation, even during simultaneous phase difference observation and fluorescence observation, without the need to replace the objective lens.
The high NA silicone oil objective lenses (UPLSAPO30 × S and UPLSAPO60 × S) use silicone oil as an intermediate medium, with a refractive index (ne ≈ 1.40) that is close to the refractive index of live cell tissue (ne ≈ 1.38), making it more conducive to normal observation of live cell time series imaging.

Fluorescent compound eye design

Using compound eye lenses to homogenize fluorescence illumination has almost no impact on the overall uniformity of fluorescence illumination, even if the alignment is not good, resulting in more accurate fluorescence imaging.

New XY stage and Z-axis

The IX3 system adopts a new rack style and focusing drive design, enhancing hardness and reducing vibration and thermal impact. The required positions are ensured on the X, Y, and Z axes, allowing for reliable time-lapse imaging. The IX3-SVR manual stage has a smooth positioning system. Users can fix the specific position or range of movement as needed, and even if reagents are added or small dishes are removed from the carrier or accidentally touched, the accurate position of cells can be repositioned.
The cantilever structure design with Z-drive guide rail is close to the objective turntable, which can prevent thermal drift and increase the accuracy of Z-axis position.

Front spotlight knob

The fixed tip and front control knob of the spotlight can be used to remove the spotlight and easily reset Koehler lighting.

One click operation

Through the IX83 touch screen or semi electric IX73 controller, one click operation can be achieved to switch all observation method components, and even adjust the aperture light bar. The IX83 touch screen also allows for one click operation to locate the focal plane.

Encoding component

Equipped with encoding type objective lens turntable, fluorescence excitation block turntable, and intermediate magnification converter components, all information related to arbitrary transformation operations is recorded by software and saved together with image data. The use of LED light sources also has a light intensity management function.

Waste liquid collection tray

The collection tray under the objective lens turntable prevents frequent damage to the biological microscope caused by liquid splashing and other pollution situations, and simplifies maintenance.

Replacing optical components is simple and efficient

Multiple optional components can be easily inserted and removed like a card box, even by the user themselves, to facilitate various applications.
