FOCUS-1 is used for flow, pressure, and process controlIntelligent instrument valve
Integrate control valves, flow meters, pressure and temperature sensors, and incorporate powerful computing capabilities
Control the valve position, flow rate, pressure or external process parameters of the control valve throughout the entire process, with unique diagnostic functions
Seamless integration into numerous automation systems, such as 4... 20 mA, HART ®、 PROFINET、 Ethernet or Wi Fi
Equipment selection, installation, and operation are more convenient, which not only improves control quality but also extends device operation time
FOCUS-1 is a carefully developed product for Industry 4.0Intelligent instrument valveThis multifunctional intelligent flow control device - developed by FOCUS-ON, a collaboration between SAMSON and KROHNE in Cologne - integrates sensors, actuators, and control functions in a single device. Through synchronous measurement of flow, pressure, and temperature, as well as independent valve adjustment functions, it is possible to accurately and reliably achieve various set points for control tasks (such as pressure, flow, and even external control variables). This makes FOCUS-1 an ideal intelligent process control unit for autonomous factories. It is not only suitable for new construction projects, but also for directly replacing traditional valves on site in existing applications.
The features and options of the product depend on its configuration: please contact us to confirm if the required features are already included in the product.
Creatively integrating sensors, actuators, and control units into one
Integrated ultrasonic technology for high-precision flow measurement
Integrate pressure and temperature measurements to obtain additional information on the medium and process status
Integrated control valve
Realize independent valve control function through integrated processor unit
Multi parameter measurement and sensor data processing in a single device
Measurement, monitoring, and modeling of equipment and process parameters
Diagnostic and alarm information for optimizing processes
Fast, precise, and stable control of flow rate, pressure, and temperature
Accurate achievement of set values without the need for complex control loops
Designed for NOA environments: suitable for advanced digital strategies (digital factories) based on NAMUR open architecture
Realize faster control cycles and reduce the complexity of distributed control systems (DCS)
Localized decentralized control is possible
No need to connect to DCS: there is no need to additionally transmit the measured data to the control system, but it is directly calculated and processed in the equipment
Digital Twin: Visualization of Process and Equipment Status
Redundancy to better achieve security, reliability, and system availability
Even in the event of sensor malfunction, the functionality and process monitoring of the sensor can still be ensured
Trigger alarm for preventive maintenance
Continuously optimizing oneself through self-learning function
Advanced diagnostic methods, such as "intelligent cavitation control"
Display status through LED, following NAMUR NE 107
Simplify procurement, debugging, and maintenance, reduce investment costs (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX)
Significantly reduced the workload of mechanical and electrical installation
Can be used for new construction and renovation projects
Easy access to devices through mobile terminals (smartphones, tablets, etc.), convenient monitoring of device functions and process parameters
Explosion proof certification: Ex ia, Ex db, Ex eb (ATEX/IECEx)
Typical Applications
Control and regulate conductive or non-conductive liquids during the manufacturing process
Undertake control circuits in partially automated or autonomously operated factories ('Digital Factory ')
IIoT applications
The application of Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) in various process industries, such as petrochemicals and chemicals, electricity, water/wastewater treatment, factory automation, and machinery/equipment packages (such as pry block manufacturers and other OEMs)
Chemical process application
Application of Heat Exchanger
The application of water (such as sewage, cooling water)
Feed control of storage tanks and other containers
