This instrument is designed as a whole and mainly consists of a base, a friction transmission mechanism, and a counter. The sample and sandpaper are fixed on one side of the base with a sample clamp. The handle is shaken to make the friction head with white cotton cloth move back and forth on the sample with a specified stroke, causing the white cotton cloth and the sample to rub against each other. After ten rubs, the degree of color adhesion on the white cotton cloth is observed and compared with a gray card to evaluate the stability of the dyeing or surface coating of the fabric sample, providing reference data for material evaluation and selection. This instrument is suitable for all fabrics on or inside textiles such as yarn, yarn dyed, printed and dyed, as well as toy products.

1.1 The sample and standard friction white cloth shall be conditioned in a constant temperature and humidity environment.
When the sample has multiple colors, all colors should be rubbed together.
1.3 If the area of each color is large enough, separate samples must be taken.
1.4 Cut the sample and perform dry friction and wet friction separately, ensuring that all colors are rubbed.
If the front and back of the sample are made of different materials and colors, both sides must undergo a rubbing color fastness test.
1.6 Dry and wet rubbing fastness should not be repeated in the same part of the sample.
2.1 Place the sample flat on the friction tester with sandpaper, ensuring that the length direction of the sample is consistent with the movement direction of the instrument, and fix the sample on the pressure plate. The sample should be clamped flat.
2.2 Fix the standard friction white cloth on the friction head, clamp it with a spring clip, and gently place the friction head on the sample;
2.3 It should be ensured that the sample does not slide or wrinkle during friction;
2.4 Shake the friction arm 10 times at a rate of once per second, causing the friction arm to rub back and forth 20 times;
2.5 Remove the standard friction white cloth and rate it.
3.1 Fully immerse the standard friction white cloth in distilled water;
3.2 After removal, clamp it in filter paper and squeeze it to give it a certain moisture content;
3.3 The remaining steps are the same as the dry friction steps mentioned above;
Before rating, gently use transparent adhesive to remove loose fluff from the white cloth.
4.2 Place three layers of unused friction white cloth under the friction white cloth to be evaluated, and evaluate the staining level of the friction small white cloth according to the standard staining gray card.

5.3 If the sample has been pre treated or post treated, report the treatment method.
1. The friction head is made of plastic and has been polished before leaving the factory, with no gap between it and the stainless steel plate. The friction head should not be directly rubbed with sandpaper during use, as it may wear out and become uneven. There may also be large gaps between the friction head and the steel plate, which can cause uneven pressure on the sample and affect the test results.
2. The speed of the friction head has been adjusted, and it is not advisable to turn the speed control knob of the speed regulator at will.
3. The end of the friction transmission arm (inside the instrument) is coated with lubricating oil to ensure smooth movement and reduce noise. If the internal friction noise of the instrument increases during use, lubricating oil can be added appropriately.
4. The sandpaper used for testing may wear out during the testing process and should be replaced regularly.
5. If the instrument cannot operate when turned on, check whether the speed controller is in working condition (press the white dot end), or check whether the fuse is broken.
