The wide working distance makes Leica DMi1 the perfect partner for live cell laboratories. Using the S40 spotlight with a phase contrast insert plate, it can be used for culture dishes, porous disks, and most types of culture bottles to achieve better resolution: S40 provides an additional 10mm of free space by simply moving. When paired with higher culture bottles, only a few steps are needed to replace S40 with S80 spotlight. No need to replace the entire lighting arm.

Leica DMi1 is used for observing phase contrast and is easy to use. No need to change the phase contrast ring in the phase contrast insert board - PH1 phase contrast ring matches all three objective lenses!
