RV gearboxFrom a planetGear reducerThe front stage and a cycloidal pinwheelspeed reducerThe RV reducer is composed of a compact structure, a large transmission ratio, and a self-locking function under certain conditions. It is one of the most commonly used reducers with low vibration, low noise, and low energy consumption.
The transmission device of the RV reducer is composed of a first stage involute cylindrical gearPlanetary ReducerThe structure is composed of two parts: a closed differential gear system and a second stage cycloidal pinwheel planetary reduction mechanism. The schematic diagram of its structure is shown in Figure 2.2. The active sun gear 1 is connected to the input shaft. If the involute center gear 1 rotates clockwise, it will drive three planetary gears 2 arranged at 120 ° to revolve around the center gear axis while also rotating counterclockwise. The three crank shafts 3 are fixedly connected to the planetary gears 2 and rotate at the same speed. The two cycloid gears 4 with a phase difference of 180 ° are hinged on the three crank shafts and mesh with the fixed pin wheel. While their axes revolve around the pin wheel axis, they will also rotate counterclockwise, that is, clockwise. The output mechanism (i.e. the planetary frame) 6 is driven by three pairs of crankshaft support bearings mounted on it, transmitting the rotation vector on the cycloid wheel at a 1:1 speed ratio.

(2) The torsional stiffness is high, and the output mechanism is a planetary carrier supported at both ends. The rigid large disk on the left end of the planetary carrier is used for output, and the large disk is connected to the working mechanism with bolts. Its torsional stiffness is much higher than that of the output mechanism of a general cycloidal pinwheel planetary reducer. At rated torque, the elastic hysteresis is small;
(3) As long as the design is reasonable and the manufacturing and assembly accuracy is guaranteed, high precision and small gap backlash can be achieved;

(5) When transmitting the same torque and power, the RV reducer has a small volume (or a large load-bearing capacity per unit volume). Due to the use of three planetary gears in the first stage, especially in the second stage, the cycloidal pinwheel has a hard tooth surface and multi tooth meshing, which itself determines that it can transmit large torque with a small volume. In addition, in the structural design, the transmission mechanism is placed inside the supporting main bearing of the planetary carrier, greatly reducing the axial size. All of the above factors greatly reduce the total transmission volume.
